New to this forum. I know I've had a gambling problem for many years but I'm so out of control right now that I have to do something about it. The problem is I'm a blackjack dealer for over 20 yrs. I don't play blackjack, I'm addicted to video poker! So staying away from casino is impossible for me. I can't quit my job but my gambling is ruining my life. I'm not young where I can start a new career at my age. I also love my job. How do I stop when I'm surrounded by it daily?
Dlw61, I have seen/heard of quite a few examples of people who work in casinos that self excluded themselves from playing there. When I went to GA there was a couple in which the wife worked at a casino and they both were compulsive gamblers who were in recovery. She said that watching everyone day to day just reinforced her recovery vow. When I self excluded at one of the many casinos that I self excluded at... I spoke with one of the employees while waiting for security to bring the form to me. That employee said that he excluded himself from playing the machines. People do it and I think it's possible only if eyes are open to daily witnessing of the self destruction that is going on. idk might make it hard to do the job but ... someone has to do the job, might as well be you if you are making good money and you can handle being there. All the best. I'm just here staying safe at home , checking out posts and trying to respond to some. take care, tara2
and the benefit is only $ 200 per month
