New here and looking for advice

Hi all, 

I've just set up an account here after looking online this morning for gambling supports. I have a serious addiction to online slots. I began looking for help about a year ago and have gone through gambling counselling with two different support services, but keep going back to the slots. I received my month's wages yesterday, I paid my rent and bills but put all the money that was left into slots last night. Absolutely dejected now and don't know where to go from here to beat this. Would appreciate any advice 

Welldone mate this is the best place i have found since when i first started recovery 2011 i would get bit better then relapse after going on and off Ga since then i am now 929 days without a bet following another guy called Adam who on his 6 years and still uses this service daily it a hard addiction and it stull test me from time to time howevee with the amount of support available and the amount people who have changed their lives it does get better this addiction thrives on negativety and sometimes it just a case of letting stuff out chatrrooms a run daily 8pm the best one u will realise your not alone their alot of people who get caught up in the same trap hope this helps

Have you tried downloading some gambling blocking softward on your phone / laptop etc. Can help in the short term. On which device do you play the online slots?

Next steps, which was certainly a positive approach for me was to join my local GA meeting. Have you searched for yours?

It is a horrible and extremely damaging addiciton, but with support, a willingness to change you can absolutely beat it.

Couldn't agree more with the two comments above. I gambled for 44 years until I was completely broken

I self excluded with Gamstop, Moses and Sense. Put gambling blocks on my bank cards. Installed Gamban on all my devices to block all gambling sites. GA was a life saver. If you go on the website there is a mobile number for each meeting. Ring the number and they will meet you before the meeting, have a chat and take you in. There are also meetings online on gamblers in recovery website.

Come on the chatrooms at 8 each night and Taz and Adam can give you some really good advice about urges etc but I guess you've been through therapy. It would be worth you talking to the advisors on here who are available 24/7 and are amazing....just click the talk to someone button and you can text chat or ring the number. 

Peer support on the chatrooms and in GA is everything. It's impossible to do this by yourself and we all support each other on here. Do you have anyone you can talk to openly ?
