Hi
Those who remember me from earlier in the year, I'm just updating you on my situation. I've been in rehab since February 3rd, it's a 14 week stay at Gordon moody in Dudley! I'm 4 weeks from finishing and it's the best thing I've ever done, my family have been supportive as have the staff and other 8 residents, my misses and kids have stuck by me and the future is looking bright for me and the family.
Sometimes you just need to get out of the mess your in and take a break from real life and look at your own state of emotion...
Stay strong and keep the faith
Hi Matt,
Fantastic news! Well-done for your commitment I am pleased to hear things are improving in your life. Keep sending us updates and keep doing well!!
Amanda
Hi Matty72,
Great news, and well done to you,Matty72. It’s interesting to know how well you’re doing; and it sounds like you’re really excited about it, and using the opportunity offered to you by Gamcare to your advantage, and rightly so. Now, you’re getting the necessary and maximum help and support in overcoming your gambling addiction - support from staff, the residents, and above all, your family.
Your confidence is beginning to show through, and it is rather encouraging to read from your post that going to Gordon Moody is the best thing you’ve ever done in your life!
Perhaps your update may be able to give hope to those in similar situation like you, and who may be harbouring some doubts about recovering from their addiction. Your experience will go a long way to assure them that there is light at the end of the tunnel, but that it requires dedication, patience, honesty, hard work and self determination.
My best wishes to you for the remaining 4weeks, and may the rest of your time at Gordon Moody provide you with the strength to foster on, and also be an inspiration to others experiencing what you’ve been through.
Thanks again for the update, and pls. keep posting.
Regards,
Beatrice
Quick update. I have now finished the main part of the programme, I'm on a 2 week chill down know before heading home to Chiswick in London. Any real problem gamblers should consider thinking of coming away for 3 months to get their lives back on track!
Feel free to ask any questions!
