It's going to be 4 weeks tomorrow for me since iv been on the machines,iv not felt no real urges yet and just taking it one day at a time

Hi everyone, I'm new to this and only just joined on Tuesday. I have been reading through this thread and thought I had better say something as a lot of Lee's traits were exactly the same as mine regarding gambling. I think it's great that everyone is so supportive.

Thanks for the message,I only joined here this week too,it's the first time iv ever looked into any kind of support at all and I wish I had done it sooner cos the people I have spoken too have all been great and really supportive and it has already helped me a lot.

Is it the machines that you play too

Same here mate, so wish I had done this ages ago. My problem was online on basically anything really casino's and sport mainly. I lost a massive amount around 5 years ago and was gambling in secret then my wife found out and it made me feel so ashamed so I just stopped and got no support or anything and thought I would just be fine. After about 8 months I started again and I'm not sure why because even when I won big I could never use the money for anything because I couldn't explain how I got the money so would just try and build the money up until it all went. again she found out and again I felt ashamed, embarrassed and the guilt is really not nice. This time I just stopped again with no help and was doing great for about 18 months. Then all of a sudden I just started again and I have no reason why. I have only lost a small amount of money this time but that doesn't make any difference, I have a massive problem and I need to sort it out. So I joined on here and have registered with gamstop, its only been 3 days or so but its a start. I am speaking with someone later which will be tough but I need to sort this once and for all. Sorry for going on a bit just wanted to get it off my chest. 

Don't apologise mate,your not going on at all so say whatever you want to get off your chest,that's good you've signed up with gamstop and the times you have gone months without gambling shows that you can do it,it's 4 weeks tomorrow for me and in the past 20 years or so gambling iv never gone this long or had the months without doing it like you have,good luck with your talk I hope it goes well

i have had relapses and moments of small breaks when I had to come clean with parents about 10 years ago and then with my partner about 18 months ago.  Been on here 6 days and online slots for me.

gamstop has been great as a blocker.  Would highly recommend it.  Good luck pj.  Stay strong. One day at a time

Yeah I'm good thanks,my days been ok and nice and quiet,I don't know how I stumbled across it but I watched catfish the other day for the first time and I loved it and have started watching the box set today and been watching it all day,I put Layla to bed and iv just put it back on now ha.

Thanks guys, my talk did go well and I have arranged some counselling sessions starting soon. Feels very strange because I have never done anything like this before but I think it needs to be done. I also found out that with some banks you can put blocks on your account so that you can not deposit onto gambling sites which is another helpful tool that I will look into. Lee, 4 weeks that is awesome keep it up pal and Sarah keep it going 6 days is great.

Love me some catfish.  Some are so wild it’s crazy.  Some are sad in that they have been talking for years and it turns ou5 to be not who they thought.  It’s the people who fall for the supermodels that make you go.  Seriously.  Look like a supermodel but too shy to video chat.  Here’s a pic of me half naked but I am self conscious.  

I feel sorry for some but you do get some happy endings bu5 rarely.

Oh right so you can't do it from a normal high St bank. 

I don't believe all of the high street banks do it but I think you can switch to Monzo online so maybe worth checking it out, everyone seems to think it's a godsend so it must be doing what it say's on the box:)) . 

Not sure about being a fountain of knowledge though ,  I'm just nosey sometimes seeing what everyone else is doing :)) . LOL .

I  saw Sarah's post and thought she'd gone a bit weird to be honest and was imagining her saying it in a deep south accent , LOL ( worked it out now ) thank's guy's 🙂 .
