and they actually talk about Pavlov and Skinner etc in this film...like the rat running over the electric grid to get it's fix - I WAS that rat!!!

Makes me more determined not to be a mug. When I get an urge I'm going to remember what happened to the rat in the end.

Thanks for this. I sent an email to the gambling commission this week after their CEO Ben haden was on Victoria Derbyshire stating that the whole point of fobt is to make players addicted. The whole industry is corrupt and no one will stop it because of revenue for the government. Such a shame the man who made this documentary is now dead.

That was a good watch, thanks for the link. I took away two quotes from the film 'Unlawful Hypnotism' and 'The Evil Genius' as all those hours not sleeping knowing I had too go to work the next day I just carried on and carried on was like I was hypnotised, for what the sounds, the big wins. I recommend anyone truly wanting to stop to watch that all the way through, I was another one of those rats 4D.

I watched this from start to finish, and thought it excellent. I always knew there was a 'science' to this, to 'harness' and continue our addictions, but this documentary tapped the surface, and delved into, the depressing reality. It had made me personally less inclined to gamble again; I do not want to fall for this any more. No longer the lab rat.

Great link mostly what we already knew. Have the feeling the industry won't be getting a good deal come October I believe there's a high chance big reforms are coming. That being said I think it will also drive a lot more people to the online sites. Which will isolate the addicts even more than they already are . Would love to see them all smashed up and thrown in the river like the start of the video. Take it easy guys

What an excellent video and it will tell you everything you need to know. I learnt about all of that but its great to see it explained so well in a video. There are some great videos on you tube.

Its is the morphine of escape and it should be put in the same chapter as substance abuse which the medical profession have now done. It is a racket and the owners and designers are all involved.

I spotted this post on Sunday night and clicked the link. I have been addicted to slots for 5 yrs! Feel like a right idiot, cannot believe I actually thought they would pay out if loads had been lost in them.....theyou are random! Totally random, may as well have been paying to play a spreadsheet! Thanks so much for this, I have not gambled since I watched this and have faith that I can beat this and stay GF!

Watched this last weekend. Completely insane when you watch it back. People who aren't addicts must think we are crazy. It really does seem mad.

The science bits behind it were quite revealing - especially the bit about the spreadsheet and how the odds are stacked to always lose money.

Great video, well worth watching by anyone with a gambling problem.
