Why why why did I do it, havnt played for ages and just out of boredom I looked for an online casino I hadnt self excluded from, signed up and quick as a flash lost it.
It might not sound like much but already in debt and trying to be very tight with money and just like that its gone.
Feeling so stupid and angry at myelf right now.
...and then you'll wake up tomorrow and think "this could be my lucky day", and today will be all forgotten. We have all done it.
If I could recall how truly bad I felt, how much I loathed myself towards the end of my gambling days, I can guarantee you that I would never gamble again. The trouble is that the pain, anger and disgust that I felt lessens over time. Nature's own healing process I suppose. That's why I go to GA weekly to get my 'medicine'. It's my weekly reminder that I do have a problem with gambling and that if I am not wary, I could be back in that old gambling habit very, very easily.
Try and keep your mind occupied, crosswords, reading, suduko etc. Or take your mind off it with excercise, walking, cycling etc. Keep yourself occupied and your mind will not stray to the gambling as much as it does now.
Best wishes
appreciate your wise words wal1957.
I almost had to laugh when I was covering (roulette) 70-80% of the numbers and still missing constantly!
I am the same. Last month I lost about £350 out of the joint account on the roulette wheel, I then had to get a mobile phone contract and sell the phone to put the money back. My partner won't find out about that, but when she notices another £150 out of the joint account this month - I have no clue how to explain it. As always happens with me, I initally went up from £190 to £450 (at this a normal and sane person would have ran for the hills), however I left with £200...meaning I spent nearly 1 hour in 3 different Bookmakers for a poxy £10. As soon as I woke today I had the urge and let it win (even though I knew what was going to happen) and I just gone and lost £150 of her money.
I don't enjoy gambling. I think I've been doing it that long, that my mind goes into automatic mode the second my wages hit the bank.
I need to stop.
Lolsausages...in reply to your last comment. I am exactly the same, I cover the majority of the board and yet I lose. It makes my blood boil when the same number comes in 2/3 times on a roll.
It really is ridiculous when you step back, think im being safe covering 80% of the board and by doing so i risk say $100 all for a $5-$10 win. When you miss you lose the entire $100! Its such a stupid stupid scam when you realise that but as we know, logic goes out the door when we see that wheel, cards etc.
sports betting just the same, they may pay $1.40 for a win, you bet $1...... They either give just 40 cents or you give them a whole dollar. why any sane person accepts it who knows
