Hello guys,

I have been addicted for over 11 years, big time! Non-stop thinking about my favourite slot and system for beating roulette. Sleepless nights, depression, minus on my account, loans, etc, we've all been there! Was it easy to quit? No after the 20th attempt and constant lies. I promised myself it was the last time.

So, five years later, being gamble-free, thanks to protective measures like Gamban, I want you to focus on recovery and the fact that your life will change dramatically. In my case, it was a few different jobs to finally fulfil the ambition which was always in me.When I think how lost and lonely I felt when gambling-this was my escape from reality. But we cannot carry like this forever. We have to face the life in some point anyway.

Please my beautiful souls-the first week is the hardest, then is getting better, you can do it.Whenever you think about you addiction just immediadely switch your thougts to something different. The way you are going to appreciate your hard-earned money is just amazing. There are so many other ways to celebrate your life. Just find your own way. Love.x

Hi Miafortuna,

Congratulations on how far you have come. When I think about what I was doing 5 years ago it feels like forever ago and to think that that is how long you have kicked this habit for, well its just so amazing when you really think about how long 5 years is.

You are so right about how positively transformational life can be once gambling free. I received a birthday card from my husband the other day and my husband who has never thanked anyone in his life, wrote in it about how I had truly transformed his life with my support and all the things he wouldnt have now without me being there to give him his wake up call regarding his habits. It is the first time he has actually thanked me in the 5 years since he quit but better late than never 🤣 It really is so transformational and brings so many positive things.

Well done you and it is so wonderful to see you here providing support and positive vibes for others.

What a touching and inspirational story Hannah 😊

Big applause for yourself for keeping faith in your husband and believing in him-that deep down he was a wonderful man, just being lost and in the grip of gambling.

Honestly, the transformation is possible, life can be wonderful again-the choice is yours.x

Well done, this time last year I was about 18 days gamble free and I heard others who were 365 days gamble free on the online chat, I thought I would never get that far.

looking for support originally I turned to gamcare. And my life has changed, it was difficult but the advice from advisers, then onto mental health etc. it all played a part. I needed support to help and it has come along way. Now 14 months later I’m a different person. The online chats and forums do help a lot.

I worked hard, cleared a mountain of debt, 2 jobs 80hrs per week but the motivation and wanting to succeed pushed me further.

now money being set aside and I can do so much in life. Another 12 months I hit my target of savings as no debt. Own my own home now and baby on the way.
wife happy, family happy - I gambled not thinking about them yet they stuck by me. And now every hardship they faced I am making up for

it can be done, a good support network

Well done, Ace💯👊The quality of life we experience now is like a day and night to what it was before, isn't it?

We need more success stories like yours to support each other on this forum, especially those who think there is no way out or who are unsure how to take the first step towards healing.

In my case, this is what helped:

1st step decision time for stopping this vicious circle.

2 block myself from online gambling

3 having a financial goal (clear the debts, rewarding myself with small gifts to again appreciate the value of money)

4 reading the posts on this forum to be inspired by others and their testimonies

5 whenever I had the intrusive thoughts about me playing I've learned how to switch my focus to something different

6 find a different hobby/job which makes you feel drawn into but in a healthy way

Obviously, every one of us is different and a different approach will work for us.But we all deserve to life a happy life.Forgive yourself for what happened and Act Now.

Xxxx
