Hi,

After 5 years of gambling I think I am finally at the point when I am ready to admit my problem and stop this all.

After racking up 10k work of debts, I have got to the point where I only have 1K left to pay off. Every month is a struggle with almost all of my wages going onto gambling, then being a struggle. This month was slightly different, I gambled £100 and got it to about 15k, of course due to reverse withdrawals none of this even hit my account, and it was gone within 24 hours.

I have enough money to get through the amount and have self excluded from all sites that I use, apart from one.

Just looking for some advise here, as I do still enjoy a football bet (this was never where my gambling problem lied), I have banned myself from the casino side of the site, and set a deposit limit of £25 a week.

Do you think this is a bad idea?

Thanks in advance.

You need to exclude yourself from the last site you use, and do it now. Then join Gamstop and exclude yourself for 5 years.

Hello.. You seem to be wanting to set out a battle plan but leaving the drawbridge down.

£25.00 could win.more possibly lose .. You are leaving yourself wide open to temptation. Sorry to be so blunt. Its an honest opinion.

I wish you well.

Keep posting.

Hi dbeasley4 and welcome.

You now have to build the strength of a healthy mind. Focusing on the fact that you have run up gambling debts nobody on a recovery forum is really going to say carry on with the football.

I will stick my neck on the block by saying I don't believe every form is a trigger for rapid losses. However it keeps you gambling and I know this addiction is nasty and devious. Before you know it you may have found a way back on to the casino or the slots. again nobody is going to give you the green light here

I presume you were football betting before but it clearly wasn't enough for you. The best advice is leave it all alone and enjoy any money you already have

Have you told anybody close?...you need monitoring and ideally you need to be on an allowance.

This is no game of having a little idea with some casual willpower. Its a devastating horrendous addiction that controls your mind and for the rest of your life you can never be complacent.

To fight it away you have to have solid foundations and solid blocks.

The pride is in total abstention from gambling. Nobody is offering you a living on football bets on those odds. Its your decision and I would prefer you were on a sandwich allowance to protect you with a close member of the family knowing what you have been doing

You cant play at this Its an addiction which kills people..£10k was and is a major problem. There is no shame in saying that you need help.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
