hi Mr chips,

thanks for the message.

completely agree with everything you're saying. there will always be a part of me that thinks I can beat them but the sensible side of me knows I can't.

makes me think of other posts on this forum, how big a win would be enough? in reality now I look at it the answer would always be 'more' .

bit sad but im a bit of a trainers geek. always treated myself to a new pair after a win, can't wait to but my first pair from saved money.

stay strong yourself mate and good luck in the future.

we will beat this!

afternoon all,

busy day at work so keeping me really distracted.

my football match has been cancelled for tonight which is a bit annoying but o well.

I've sat watching sport over the last few days without caring about results, cards, corners etc so tonight should be no different.

just a quick thought, where does everyone stand on the lottery? i know it is gambling but it doesn't feel the same, if a sports bet lost I would immediately put another one on but if I don't win the lotto I wouldn't buy for the next draw, I would only tend to buy one if I was passing a shop. probably only bought about 5 in a year.

at the moment I feel like I'm sleeping slightly better and waking up in a better mood. Always been a real night owl so never slept that much anyway.

hope everyone's day is going well.

day 5.

I don't play the lottery - I don't think £2 ticket every now and again is the same as gambling though!! Plenty folk will disagree with me on that though mate.

Hi there.

I am part of a lottery syndicate which involves me paying out £4. Per month. I have nothing to do with it or check the numbers each week. It is merely because I am a little superstitious and think, if I come out, they will probably go and win!! Some people on here do it and some don't - personal choice. I do not therefore, count this in my g.f days.

Hope this helps.

Hello

With lottery atleast a percentage is going back to the community. So I don"t see a problem with buying lotto tickets.

Is the lottery a form of gambling? of course it is. Only on a forum for gambling addicts would people try and claim otherwise.

Whether the lottery is a problem is another debate but let's not BS here and call white black.

It's a very simple question of fact.

Look up wiki if still not sure. First line: 'A lottery is a form of legalised government gambling....'

morning all,

another day gf yesterday, felt a slight draw to bet on the football last night but was nothing more than a passing feeling, really enjoyed the games too, which is bizarre since I'm usually nervously waiting for something to happen.

cardhue, luka and our lady, thank you. appreciate the different perspectives. I know the lottery is gambling in the wager reward sense. maybe my initial question was worded poorly, I wanted to know if it encouraged you to do other things gambling, or adds to the compulsive feeling.

got a busy day in work today then out for a pub quiz so looking forward to that.

also away for the weekend but will still update as and when I can.

take care

My response is - if lottery is no biggie, why not knock it on the head so you can honestly be gamble free?

people down play it - yet surely in the context of people who have often had their quality of life seriously affected by gambling, why can't you draw a line and say no to all gambling?

Is it, in fact, that addiction is still in play in a very sneaky 'rationalising' sense? When i say 'rationalising' i mean using apparent reason to justify a kind of dishonest position.

Have a good un

thanks Louis,

yeah taken your point on board and I guess you're right, maybe it's a way of clinging on to a tiny bit of the gambling lifestyle.

never really played it anyway.

thanks

Hi there.

For me, I am not disputing that this is not a form of gambling - rather, it is something that does not form any destruction/heartache in my life. Again, as mentioned earlier, it is personal choice and if people wish to do it then they should and for those who are not comfortable with this then they should not. We are all entitled to our opinion and I am happy to say that is mine.

Take care and remain strong.
