Hi Dj your thoughts on setting up things to help ppl block gambling is brilliant I really wish it would happen like you I have registered sites and self excluded as it's the only way I too have just about been on every site known to man. But there's always new ones opening and it's horrible and hard for us cg. I'd help you with anything you can do remotely of course. You've got great blocks in place well done on your gf weeks! Lu x

Into week 10 and still GF.

Feels good.

Just had the conditional contract through for the new job. Massive pay cut which in a way is a good thing as I'll have less to be tempted with. It's going to be a tough 2-3 years but hopefully will be worth it in the end.

@Lulubobs1966 I really do think the government should be doing more to help. So much is left to charities to sort out. If there was tax to be made from every gambler saved then I'm sure it would be at the top of their agenda.

I know of bank accounts that allow you to seperate money and direct debit funds but these cost £12 a month as they are managed accounts. As a gambler I know how hard it is for people to see the bigger picture as that money could be used for something else. Also the money in these accounts isn't protected with the FSA compensation scheme.

Here's to week 10! đŸ˜€

Another Sunday morning, another week GF.

Felt a little guilty this morning as when watching "I'm a celebrity .." the ad for their competition came up. I thought ooh I'll text, then I stopped myself. The wife said I'll enter the competition online so you aren't doing it.

I didn't think about it but there are all these little triggers out there that can get you.

I am abstaining totally and really appreciated what she did. I then thought about it though. Is it enabling? Should my wife be gambling? Lottery etc.

I've put this one down to a temptation and shall be pushing on into week 11 with a bit more caution as there is temptation round every corner.

Keep up the good work everybody and remember you are the one who can do it.

Here's to week 11.

Another week GF,

Not much to report other than I serviced my car to save money.

The fuel filter on a Ford Focus is a b****r to change.

On to week 12 with hope.

I think I'll be doing a 2 week update from now on as it's been near 3 months now.

Here's to week 12.

Quick update,

Still GF and not had an urge. Started a christmas agency job to try and recover some losses. Really finding out the value of money again as it's hard work.

Found that I need something extra to start my new career so that has set me back a few months. Will be sitting an exam in the new year so I can continue. Really was a kick in the nads but on the bright side I didn't feel I needed to escape to the dark side! đŸ˜€

Still feeling really positive and can't believe how quick the last 2 weeks have gone.

Onwards and upwards.

Keep up the fight everybody.

Here's to week 14.

Fantastic how you're eating up the weeks with a serious, focused determination. You deserve, and are going to get, a Christmas full of life and positivity with destructive forces banished away. All the very best to you DJBlu.

Still maxed out with work, Christmas and next career step. Gambling has been so far from my thoughts I have only now remembered to add my post.

On to the next one.

Here's to week 15.

Still here, still GF.

Been mental busy with work, study and homelife.

Managed to afford a new laptop following the demise of my old one. 5 years and it gave in. lol Not going to happen with me!

Now in week 21, five more and that's a whole 6 months.

Really haven't had the time to think about anything other than sleep, eat, rave, repeat. Great but tiring.

Determined.

Here's to week 21.

Almost a month since my last update.

Still GF, start my new job next week. Can't wait.

No urges. Saw an advert the other day and the first thought was "Am I excluded from there?". No I wasn't, now I am.

I'm still in the angry, hate everything about it phase. I hope this continues as it gives me the strength to carry on. I feel optimistic about the future and can see one without the constant urge to gamble.

Here's to week 25!

Nearly another 2 weeks, started my new job that I applied for over 12 months ago. So happy to say that I went out yesterday with friends for the first time in ages. They were all talking about having a bet on the football. I explained my situation and they all put their slips away and nothing more was said. So shocked that this was how they acted!

I didn't have the urge to do anything and usually when I get drunk is when I am at my weakest point.

Still going strong and I hope it will continue.

Here's to week 27. Over 6 months now! đŸ˜€

Thanks for the encouragement Our Lady. Means a lot when people take the time to reply.

Nearly another weeks and still GF.

Had a dream the other week where I put money into a fruit machine and woke up absolutely disgusted. I was so releived that it was only a dream.

Work is so busy at the minute hence the sporadic replies, enjoying it still.

Here's to week 32! đŸ˜€

Can't beleive another 6 weeks have passed since I last posted. Been so busy with work. Had a few temptations but still not gambled any money away. Thankfully the barriers have helped.

Well and truly on the way towards a whole year. Week 38.

Here's to week 39.
