Good evening,
This is day 1. I spoke to a nice advisor today who gave me some good advice. I'm feeling very ashamed of myself especially as I am a heavy drinker too. I hope that this is the last time that I'm here.

Hi miss J,

Reading your headline and opening post stopped my heart beat for a second. Firstly cause instantly i felt like looking in the mirror. Maybe cause I'm "miss" and one of my innitials is "J".
The main part is you tackling two problems at once. Welcome aboard dear soldier! Joining this site maybe just helped you to save your future from the disaster.
Glad you have found comfort in contacting GC advisor. They are here to help and guide you on the road to recovery.
It takes some guts to admit we have these problems and using these addictions as crutches to survive. I'm glad you made that first step! You come to the right place and are surrounded by like minded people Đ²Â˜Ñ”..please never be ashamed or scared to put your feelings/ thoughts down. We spit many poison out on these pages, and you know what? - it helps đŸ˜‰

There is a way out of this disastrous situation. It is not even disastrous, that's just how we see it at a time. Every situation has a solution. Absolutely true fact!

Gambling demon huh. Ok, you can help yourself big deal by self exclusions, blocking software on, keeping urself busy on really boring times, talking/sharing this problem with someone you trust...coming on here and posting really helps too!!. What about GA meetings? GC offers free 1to1 counselling also. Very tough experience but worth it (i had it twice).
As of alcohol..well, i guess that requires addressing cause it's just another form of escapism from reality. I attended GA once...d**n..i so wish i stayed on track there and would suggest you to try it also. Like minded people, no judgement, full acceptance and massive support.

Things won't change overnight missj, it takes time and courage...few tears and "flat" feeling, but as you move on in your journey, one day at a time you will start seing the positives and the whole view about yourself will change. Confidence will come back, true you will start surfacing more and more...until she stays with you for good Đ²Â˜Ñ”

You have it in you! Choose life, because that's what recovery is offering...and of course it's free for the taking :-)))

Take care, keep posting. You can do it.

Sandra x
