Ended up relapsing after 210 days of not gambling, haven’t slept much last night as I feel awful, I didn’t lose a huge amount of money but it was way past what I would normally play. Just went in to a bookies and didn’t care as I’ve had so much go on this year in my life. I’ve realised I need to start setting up different cards to different things so I don’t lose money. Let’s start this journey again!!

Yep same happened to me i got to 290 days and played poker over this holiday week for my birthday.  I didnt lose any money but thought i was back to square one.  The thing is if we both get to 365 days the year only gambling one or two times and losing a huge amount less than the year before then its a successful year in my eyes.  210 days is huge lets not ruin this progress

Don't focus on the days (its only a number), never get overly fixated with staying gamble free for a year (or whatever),  just concentrate on strategies to stay gamble free.

Self exclusion

Hand over finances

take minimum money out and no cards.

and think about what made you gamble again, and how you can cope in future.

Do you confide in a partner or loved one ?

Have you tried GA or counselling ?

in the same boat went nearly 100 days GF at weekend blew £500 on Saturday in arcades on FOBT's which is a fair sum. Felt sick after and in work thinking i now have to work all month with no real spare money. Didn't even enjoy it, guess i got cocky after nearly 100 days and having just got paid felt i could control myself.

Need to go back to leaving card at home so dont have easy access to money. Cant with draw on credit card only buy goods.

Good luck mate, ill be restarting GF days with you!

Sam

Sorry to read the posts of friends who have gambled but pleased that you are all ready to try again.

I think K2's words make a lot of sense when he says it is best to just focus on one day at a time. Taking appropriate measures to make it less likely one will gamble is also a good idea.

I wish you all every success. My last bet was 4th June.
