17 days free of gambling

113 days to go (875 to pay off before Nov.)

136 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 79 days = +909

So another day almost done, bouldering tonight with some guys from work. Bit of an expense including some drinks and food after but it's something I really enjoy and hopefully with more money I could go most weeks next year.

Only 13 days to go until the final 100 day push which I plan to do. 130 to bring in the new year.

18 days free of gambling

112 days to go (875 to pay off before Nov.)

144 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 80 days = +917

So I should have done some study at lunch today but instead sat in a quiet room and worked out my finances, something I do every now and again to see if I can afford certain things. I always do worst case scenario but then I panic myself as it always works out I have very little each month. But then looking at this year I have slowly turned that huge bus and yes things will be rubbish until after Christmas but after Christmas only 100ish days away I will be starting that long climb to recovery. Just need to stay focused.

Right back to work to try and get an extra pay rise which should help my recovery once and for all.

Hi rst

Second post I have read today that has made me smile for two totally different reasons

I check my money every day to make sure we have enough to last till the end of the month and if I can pay any extra to gambling debts

Whatever works to keep abstaining is simply fantastic

I think your strategy is great

You are doing great Keep going and getting stronger

0 days free of gambling

107 days to go (1775 to pay off before Nov.)

0 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

900 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 83 days = +17

Well that lasted long 🙁 all started with a small 10 bet on a Friday night and then 6 wrong calls on tennis matches later and I'm down again. Am writing a letter to my parents this evening explaining my problems and a promise is that if I ever bet again I will show them that letter.

Hopefully can get enough money together for next payday then I will just have to take the hit in interest rates on my card. Really need a pay rise.

100 days. I will do it!!!!!

Wow if that doesn't make me stop I don't know what will. I just put my heart and soul into a letter to my mum and dad. I then read it back and put myself in their position.

It's horrifying. It really is.

I will show them this letter if I gamble again and that is the last thing I want to do. I don't think they will understand how a university educated boy with the world at his feet could do something like this but I have and next year is make or break.

Last bet ever!!! 14th Sept 2014. Good bye you s*i* head. Won't miss you one bit.

1 days free of gambling

106 days to go (775 to pay off before Nov.)

8 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 84 days = +23

Well a stroke of luck last night as I did a bit of a credit card shuffle and have been able to get a 0% balance transfer card until April. Can move 1000 of losses on to that so in reality I will have my 900 loss plus a little bit next April instead, giving me a bit more breathing room. But that does not mean I will gamble. 100 days to Christmas so looking forward to my very own present. The gift of abstinence.

Have also spoke with my mum and used the excuse of study fees I had to pay this week as way to get 300 interest free loan to cover my rent for this week. Will pay it all back in a couple of weeks so it's much better than a payday loan.

Hi rst

Two very big positives there

1 your pressie to yourself at Xmas but hey you treat yourself every day you don't gamble

Sooo positive for you

2 you are not even thinking about a PD loan

Soo positive again

Mix them with gambling and all you get is disaster

Am still reading the book lol

Keep going and stay strong and determined

Well done to you

24 pounds saved.

All good at the moment, money worries lessening by the day and next Thursday at payday will be a good day all blocks mental and physically in place.

4 days free of gambling

103 days to go (775 to pay off before Nov.)

32 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 87 days = +47

Steady day at work, counting down the hours til the weekend. Few drinks in town then back to parents to eat properly as have been very unhealthy even skipping meals but has led me to feeling tired and sluggish. Hoping next week on payday can become refreshed again.

5 days free of gambling

102 days to go (775 to pay off before Nov.)

40 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 88 days = +55

So it has been slightly annoying that a withdrawal from my last weekend of gambling has not hit my bank yet but can get by to payday without it just about. Doing ok, having a sudden urge to really cram in the revision and be ready for my exam in Nov by mid Oct which will give me more confidence in the last few weeks rather than panicking which I usually do, then fail.

6 days free of gambling

101 days to go (775 to pay off before Nov.)

48 pounds saved.

0 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 89 days = +63

So I'm sat in the same spot as last week watching football but this time enjoying the game and not being distracted by a tennis match I have thrown 300 quid at. Glad I seem to have survived this relapse but sure if I do go crazy again it may leave me struggling into early next year.

Here's to four weeks time another payday and not a penny spent on gambling. Small steps working for me I think. Then go for the big push to Christmas, might even start to spend any spare money on presents so I have nothing left to gamble with.

7 days free of gambling

100 days to go (775 to pay off before Nov.)

56 pounds saved.

120 paid off (long term debts)

0 spent on gambling

Money +- in last 90 days = +71

So 1 week down, really good weekend catching up with family and seeing my auntie who hasn't been very well. Good day at work and looking forward to a quiet evening in studying. Will get that pay rise all it takes is 7 weeks of concentration and hard graft.

Well always nice to see less than 100 days to go. 99 days to stay clean and my new year will start with a bang with over 800 quid saved which will cancel out my last binge.

Very busy with studying and actually enjoying it so no time to gamble.

Thanks Suzanne, I'm going to need it though. More bad news today as we found out another company has put in a bid for our company and if accepted I may be made redundant or have to relocate :(. First time I've experienced something like this. I hope things stay as they are as I don't want the extra hassle and stress plus I'm really starting to do well in the company.
