Hi rst
I don't know if you are aware but I am being made redundant it has been going on for over 3 months now, but I wanted redundancy, even so it is really stressful, keep tight on abstaining, if I can help, you know I am here.
Hopefully the worst for you will be to relocate, use your experience with abstaining from gambling, to keep you strong because it will be a stressful time, I am finding out that I am stronger than I thought now, so will you,.

Thanks Suzanne, well I hope it was just a warning shot from our rivals but still gave me more resolve to give this up as I want to be able to have the money in order to cope with any job change. Didn't know you were going through redundancy but you sound like your on the road to recovery and are a very good example to many people on here.

Early post as have a busy day and want this evening to focus on my studies and not have any associations with gambling to distract me. Payday too, but in reality it's just a normal month keeping things tight and all being well in 4 weeks time I will have a little bit left to pay off debts. My bonus in oct/nov will then feel like a bonus I have earnt.
Hi rst.
Thanks for your message.
Double figures today well done.
Keep busy and keep winning.
Take care

So early start today with a run and felt really good and refreshed. If anyone likes running or biking get strava as it can be addictive but in a good way. I am trying to get the fastest section on a hill run but missed out by 1 second. Very frustrating but will drive me to get out and do it again. Mood positive going into a weekend where I will not place a football bet but just enjoy the scores coming in. Might even go to my local Ilkeston fc to watch a game.

Decided I like posting early as it reminds me that I will not bet today! Good news last night that my parents don't currently need the 300 quid I borrowed a few weeks ago. So will put that towards paying off some credit cards and pay back next pay day. A lot of breathing space currently to enjoy myself and focus on my studies. Have a good weekend everyone.

So an awful start to the day as our sunday morning team lost 7-0. But now chilling at home watching golf, the old me would have a good 500 quid on the result but now just enjoying the action. The annoying thing is all my mates at the pub after the game were on their phones saying what bets they had on but staying strong and don't see the need to have one. 2 weeks tomorrow and already feeling better.

Early start today with lots on at work then another evening of studying. No thoughts of gambling and having read a few diaries earlier I really don't want to as it truly ruins your life. I want to be normal again and in 93 days (13 weeks) I will be, that is a promise.
Hi rst,
Well done 2 weeks now of winning.
Stay positive and strong and keep going.

I have just realised that I have been so accustomed to paying 3/400 per month in debts that when it is all paid off in 3/4 years time I will basically have a 5k pay rise with no effort whatsoever (on top of any other payrise), I will feel like a rich man and can treat myself to an amazing holiday each year for free :). Well if thats not a reason to stop I don't know what is. I have been gambling for 3/4 years so it should come round quick enough. Small term pain for long term gain.
Hi rst,
That's a very positive way to look at the debts lol

Morning, already feeling more energised this time round. Walked into work with a bounce in my step listening to a classic from my youth 'Hybrid Theory' by Linkin Park. Sort of made me think of how many options ahead I had when young and that this is a chance to start again. Enjoying my day so far and off all day tomorrow at a team building day. The joys.

Ok so I'm cheating a little here as I've not even started day 17 but am that busy will have no time to post. Have decided I'm doing the easiest stoptober by stopping gambling. Have also cut out caffeine for the whole month to see what impact that has, wish me luck. Zzz.

Well yesterday was a real high point for me, great team building day with work and getting to know a few more people, then nipped off for another bouldering session before meetig back with the team for some food, bit of karaoke and drinks, with the boss at our work paying for everything 🙂 also during the night one guy mentioned a few were heading off to a casino but I just refused as I honestly didn't want to go would rather drink and be happy.
Same again tonight although having to fund a night out myself, but I have budgeted for a few so no need to panic like I did last month.
Hi rst,
Another good positive post.
Keep going
