Been gambling for years and always thought I was strong enough to give up independently but guess not as I keep going back to online betting or betting in shops. I have lost count how much I have lost but I know it is more than I can efford and in thousands and that is nothing to be proud of.

Decided this is the last time I'm going keep going back and self excluded myself from online betting accounts and got self-exclusion calling me tomorrow to request local and where I work betting shops to be alarted.

Ashamed and frustrated with myself to allow this continued gambling get here and wish I could turn back time but clearly I can't and need to face this problem..

I have accepted I need to change and want this to work. Thanks for listening.

Hi JPaul,

Welcome to GC. Please stick around and read as many threads as you can because there is so much information and inspiration in them..

You're not alone in this fight.

Wanting change and putting practical measures to do so will lead you the way forward..

Self exclusions, GA fellowship, keeping busy and downgrading your phone/ cards can be best things you can aid yourself with on this journey.. also HC offers free counselling which you can consider as great approach in helping to understand yourself better.

Keep posting! One day at a time...you can indeed do it ☺

S x
