Thanks for the positives your right of course we wont starve and christmas wont be quite egg and chips but not the christmas they should have.

Its not all gambling debts etc ive lost quite abit through illness and cancelled jobs this month and i should have been abit more frugal.

Some times it just hits me what i should have and now have not.Had a good cry today so feeling abit better.

Enjoy the rest of your time off and thankyou.

Hi Freda,

Yes, i can imagine it is stressful stepping out in front of that traffic. I am one of those drivers you talk of. I am under pressure in my minibus to pick up such and such a client by a certain time, so that the parent can leave for work or something and driving past schools with there lolly pop lady's and other assorted traffic doing the school run.. is a pain! A pain for everyone am sure. All the best to you when you decide to step forth once more.

By the way great stuff on the swimming. I take one of my clients swimming. He thinks he's physically fit. But he's not really. He manages up to 15 lengths with rest stops. Am similar to you I can do 50 lengths of so before the clorine starts to bother my eyes (I don't like wearing goggles) and i start getting tired of course lol.

Take care, stay focussed on the not gambling thing, as i try to do the same. Cheers.. S.A 🙂

Thanks SA,

I am feeling more and more positive each day about coping back at work. I am going to give it my best shot, and I am proud of how I have coped this month. I have done a lot of things to help myself recover and prepare to return, rather than letting myself get wound up and feel sorry for myself.

I wanted to go to a Zumba class this afternoon, to have some fun and get a stress relieving workout at the same time - unfortunately it was cancelled. So - me and hubby went and had a knock about on the tennis courts for an hour, and I really enjoyed it : )

Today it is 20 weeks since my last gamble of any kind and I am immensely proud of that. Well done me!

Hi Freda... you done the right thing for taking this time out. Give it your best shot like you say. As you can see from my recent entries I seem to be very stressed with my work situation but i struggle on. Seems like i go round the same old pattern of behaviour. The whole work thing is just hard.

Well done on your 20 weeks. We are at about the same time gamble free.. lets keep going eh.. cheers.. S.A 🙂

Wow! Half a year! What a fantastic achievement!

Well done and keep it up!

Work will sort itself out but the fact that you chose to enjoy an hour of tennis rather than going back into the evil world really does speak for itself.

Brill!

Thanks SA and GT,

well night before I go back to work, and have to admit I am bricking it! However, I can get my head around how it might just go ok which is more than I could do this time last week!

I have been doing a positive visualisation exercise from a Paul McKenna CD and it has helped quite a bit.

Time to let go now. Can't do anything else to prepare except get a nice soak in the tub with a relaxing bath oil and take a sleeping pill. Then ban myself from thinking about it until morning.

Send me positive thoughts please!

Nice timing, cos av just got back from the positive thought shop with some positive thoughts. There's a two for one offer on at the moment.. so I will have one positve thought and you can have the other. 🙂

All the best for tomorrow and thanks for your support through my tough times. Like you say, i think i will ban myself from thinking about work stuff until tomorrow and have a soak int tub.. Cheers.. S.A 🙂

I Had to go home early yesterday because I had a panic attack in front of the supervisor. I was gutted!

I had not slept the night before and had been nervous all day. However, I got a great sleep last night. I went to work this morning and was still nervous, but did fine. Lunchtime I am hoping to be fine, because there isn't much to do. I hope I manage to stay calm tonight, but I am already doing my best, and if I don't I will still be proud of myself for trying.

Anxiety levels are still pretty high 🙁

Hi Freda

One day at a time, if necessary one hour at a time, if necessary one minute at a time. Keep it simple. Sounds easy and I feel for you but remember we are all on your side so when you finish you can get rid of all the negativity here. Take care and a big thumbs up!

Aw thanks Smiler 🙂

My boss is very sympathetic and supportive which is a huge plus. I managed to stay for the full shift this afternoon, and did most of the work myself. Yesterday, my supervisor did the work and I just observed, and STILL had a panic attack and got sent home early! So Today was a massive improvement.

He said I did really well, and he can see I am getting there. He said I should be proud of myself! ah bless.

I am glad today was easier, but still not sure how long it will take to overcome this.

All I know, is I made massive strides today, and am very proud of myself.

Fantastic news about what happened today.

Onwards and upwards now!

But still remember - one minute at a time...!

Hi Freda!

Be really proud of yourself!

This anxiety thing that comes around can be bad....i know cause i've been there.I used to get anxiety alot.I don't know if this will help you because in life we are all different.I made a choice with myself(as strange as that may seem)to not worry about everthing going on around me.I hope that makes sense.Believe me when i got on top of that i really did feel less stressed and with that the anxiety became alot less.

Freda your doing great.Keep taking little steps.

Stay strong and remember changing a life happit isn't done over night....but for every day that goes by it will become that much easier!

We're all behind you!

Viggo.
