Another great day with no thoughts of gambling. Out tonight to enjoy some time with my wife and have a meal and a beer or two. Looking forward to reaching 1/3rd of a year gamble free next week!

Keep it up sbisstopping. Milestones are great but its the achievement today that matters

Well diary, its tuesday afternoon and all is well, I wonder how I ever found the time to waste feeding machines in those soul less places. Life is so much better when spent in the company of those you love. I have had to learn to be at one with myself and have the ability to sit and reflect, enjoying my own company. I am in a good place and must always remember that it is within my control never to gamble again but at this instant, all that matters is that I chose to remain gamble free today. Today is a fantastic day and I have every opportunity to make tomorrow just as good. I wish everyone well on their journey.

Life is good. I am so busy at work that I have not allowed myself time to think about gambling until I just flicked onto this site whilst on the train. Thought it would be good to remind myself how much energy I am now giving to things other than FOBT machines. Weirdest consequence is that my golf game is improving very quickly! In seriousness I am enjoying my recovery! I think it is posiable to enjoy it provided I do not EVER become complacent. GA tonight so looking forward to checking in.. Today is an excellent day I hope it is for you too!

Lovely post,

Yes it is more than possible to enjoy recovery, as long as complacency doesn't take over

Keep one step ahead and stay on guard at all times, especially when feeling good .

Well done and keep focusing on your recovery.

Not had time to check in recently as so busy at work (36 hours already done this week). All is good and no inclination to gamble. Off to GA in a minute to check in with my fellow journeymen (and women). Tomorrow will be a great day, I hope it for you too.

Hello sbisstopping,

Keep going you are doing well. Think of yourself as Rocky. You are the underdog against the big gambling companies. The gambling institutions are appollo creed. Now go and knock him out.

Go rocky go.

Thanks Toad, an interesting way of looking at it. I prefer to think of the gamble industry as the pathetic all mouth no trousers wimp in the corner who doesn't even deserve my attention or energy. I do not allow my energy to be wasted on things that I cannot influence, all of my energy is focussed in makin every day an excellent gamble free one!

Hello sbisstopping,

Very good analogy 🙂
It's definately good advice to channel our energy in the right direction. I know at the height of my gambling on the fobts. I used to ho home exhausted. Mentally and physically drained.

Good luck in your recovery.

Toad.

So today is "back to the future" day. For me it is all about today and making sure I have another great day. I certainly can't change the past but I am excited about what a gamble free future will bring.

Have a good day everyone and remember that success is easiest achieved by making sure we have barriers in place and a mindset of success!

I know that today will be a great day as I have no intention of gambling but in the event of a mental slip, I have barriers in place. Why therefore need I worry?

Hi,

Thanks for popping over to my diary. You are doing really well. As you say it is all about barriers. Put them in place and raise them high.

Best wishes

Not a lot to report as I am so busy at work that my feet haven't touched the ground for 2 weeks. Just had a few minutes to check in and saw my gamble free day counter says 150 days. Nice to see it ticking over and I know that today is going to be another great GF day because that is what i choose! Hope your days are also great!
