Hi,,,,,,,,, in 58 mins ill hit the day ive been looking forward to for sometime after stuart pointed out its merits being 2345..... Now im six and a half years gamble free.......

Now i didnt think about rewarding myself for this feat but tonight i was looking (being star wars day) at star wars lego.......  I was thinknig of starting to collect lego mini figures..... i also wanted to buy the breaking bad and john wick mini figures as i thought they would be a talking point for guests coming round..... so i found the breaking bad rv lego van two breaking bad mini figures, a john wick mini figure and a bobba fett star wars one........ they all fake as they dont make these by lego however i think they look cool....... they were all half price but cost me 58 pounds (quite a lot) but if i was gambling that would have been a few hours gambling entertainment and i get to keep these as tangible objects rather than for absolutely nothing.

A nice reward......

So i wanted to thank all mods for supporting me,,,,,,,,,all gamcare friends.......and my friends and family.....it took a lot to get to this point.

I find it best to stick on gamcare as it keeps it fresh in my mind how destructive gambling is for me and can be over such a sgort or long period of time......

Stuart recently has brought such a wealth of passion to the site and has not only reminded me of how far ive come but also how lucky i am to have had this site to come to back ten years ago......  i come to this site everyday and its my safe place to come each night to write out my thoughts, issues, inspiration and with the help of fellew like minded friends on here ive got thru soo soo much........

To the people that make this site work than k you from the bottom of my heart....... youve saved my life.....

I know each post gets read by gamcare staff to keep me , us safe and they work tirelessly to do this...... its helped me many times in the past.....

For those members just starting out......if it doesnt stick straight away stick at it....... i was unsuccessful at stopping for three years on here and ill never forget the support i got thru those years and elthough at times friends on here mustve thought i had not chance and would never manage to stop thankfully on day it truelly did stick......

I allways say on here its not the number of consecutive days gamble free you are that counts its the continuous recovery, the continuous trying to stop, each day wake up and try, its not called compulsive gambling not for a reason........ u often feel compelled and if ur impulsive like me by the time u realie what ur doing youve already gambled........  SO DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP......

ant that goes to Toad, Stace, Young, and a lot more who have the guts to keep trying over and over thru they years ive been on here........ Just because youre not at huge gamble free days at mo doesnt make youre effort any less great...... You all keep coming back and trying...... and for that effort, stubburness and determination u are very very successfull.....

Over the years ive gone thru many many objectives....... main one was with being skitsophrenic i wanted my independance back.......I wanted a job that didnt stress me out that i could do well..... I wanted to be healthy........ I wanted to stop smoking........ i wanted to rely less on vices and these vices that were my crutch to life........ i was overweight and very unhealthy when i came here.........  Now thankfully by writing these objectives and working towards them eahc day and geting feedback i was able to achive all and more.....

Now Im living in my own bought flat with a garden and all kitted out with the best possessions i could ever have wished for....... Im working as a Hospital porter with soo many like minded healthcare professionals helping to make people more healthy and achieve their personal health goals......I havent smoked since 2016...... Ive recently stopped drinking alcohol again and have pretty much not had a drop for 8 years........ I successfully been stepping my way to weight loss and my legs are like a gazzelle (lol).......I do more and more each year .....I have spent more and more time with friends and family and each moment is precious.......  I am very thnakfull they are all happy and healthy......

If i could stop time right now and live in this moment forver i really would as its just perfect and Gamcare has really really been just what i needed to achieve all this.....

Many many thanks Adampoker, Adam123

Lets all achieve our dreams

Hi Adam, my friend and someone who has given me so much advice and support let alone hope.

On 9th June you will have been on this site for 11 years which is utterly incredible. They should have your footprints in the pavement outside head office of Gamcare.

Since I joined this site in November I've read your posts every day. I wish I had followed it 11 years ago but I've loved reading every post. Your dedication should be recognised, not just on the forum but the chatrooms. I can't imagine how many chatrooms you've been in over the years. 3254 posts is quite simply amazing and I would think the only one with higher figures are the forum admin and of course there are more than one of those.

Adam123 is a key reason that I'm coming up for 6 months gamble free. I couldn't have done it without you and here's to us both being on here in ten years time. I'm so proud to have you as a friend just like many others would say on this site.

You are an absolute legend mate

The most beautiful thing about this space is that support is always two ways. We support each other to work through this and keep going. There is always someone here on Gamcare whenever you need it and whenever you feel you don't need it. It's all about showing up when you can

Evening (or morning stuart)......

Been watching on you tube tonight firstly fpl looking at what i should or could do with my team....... Gaming looking at and thinknig about how much ive spent on it and thinknig i can make sure i still dont spent anything the rest of the year......  Theres news about playstation saying there maybe refunds for customers who bought digital games........ have to see in future whether that will apply to me.......

Last night i rested after feeling ill in the day...... got my strength back up today....... by going gym and sitting in sun for few hours....... and watching city game....... listening to other matches.........  looks promising for this week....... come on the mighty spurs....... ill be cheering arsenal tomo to beat west ham.......  to give us some breathing space..... all in all its a very interesting end to the season....

FAntasy im against my nephew in the cup this week and we are pretty much on same points so far....

Ive got 120 left on my sainsburys voucher and have spent 39 in waitrose already this month......  Ive got 15 meals in freezer...... including 8 steaks...... 6 pies,,,,,,, one pizza...... and two pasta bake ingrediants.  and 1 lasagne....... some actuaslly 17 meals.......  Ill go thru these for some rotation of frezer then june ill get a whole months worth of food....... and budget for the month.......  Id like the 120 to last may and june so 50 days ive got meals for may........ just milk, marg and bread to buy.......  25 pounds should do it for rest of may....... then 95 pounds left....... so

4x meals pies = 2 pounds

8 meals of pasta bake = 10 pounds

6x meals of sausages = 2.69 already got beans

spag bol x 4 = 3.96 (will test this meal first before buying more but reviews are good....

hot pot meal x 4 = 3.96 (will test)

sheese and tomate pasta aldi price match x4 =3.96 will test but cheaaper than buying ingrediants seperate so will try like the bolognese.......

Razors (£3)

Toothpaste (3=£3total)

got bin bags

got shampoo

dont need shower gel

washing up liquid 3x89p = 2.67

dont need bleach.....

dont need toilet roll

dont need washing powder

Tea bags (2.99)

Milk bread and marg (6pints x6 = 14.40, bread 10 marg 6 = 30.60

Adam

We really have to get you on the Martin Lewis show or buyer still start a blog on here for money saving tips. I loved your passion to defeat the enemy of back door addiction and not give in, thinking it's only money but to plan so vigorously

I hope you are really proud of that planning for your future, the old grey Adam sitting in a deck chair in the garden sun. It's not out today but I'm a strong believer in the power and energy you can feel from the sun. It's amazing how much you can get from nature. I love sitting under a tree and listening to the leaves moving and rustling in the wind.

Keep budgeting and reworking the budget

Thanks stuart great to build my confidence and self esteem......

Today i bought two of the budget 99p ready meals along with some ham for lunches this week at work......

I had the spag bol one and tbf it actually was very nice...... of course if i cooked my own it would be better but at the same time it would cost four times more......  Going to try the hotpot next....... im also going to try the mac cheese and chicken curry...... in fact im going to try the whole range i think......

My first aim of may is to not spend anything at all for this week......  Ive got food sorted with my sainsburys gift card i got from a broadband deal i got......  Like i said last night its 120 pounds on the card and ill try to navigate the last 20 days of may with 25 pounds...... When  u just buy milk, bread and marg.....  its like 2.40 a week just for 6 pints..... but i can manage on 8 pints a week i think..... i do love milk tho....

But i do like the thought of being really frugal....... appreciating what i have...... what i can do for no expense...... i pay for subcriptions........ive paid upfront for gaming....... im sorted on that fron until 2030...... so four years gaming all paid.......

Ive got 4 bbq coal packs but i think as i spent 27 on the last bbq it really isnt money well spent........  On a budget thats the first thing that goes......

Being tight with money really grounds you which i feel is good...... it keeps you level with the average person..... keeps you humble.... well i believe that anyway......

Im not short of money but i do hate waste........ and id like to save as much as i can as quick as i can...... to get out of debt......

so day one of budgeting of 7 done today...... .3.98 spent on sains card and nothing else...... onto work tomo ..... .fight the fight.... onwards i go adam
