Hello , hope everyone had a good Saturday. I went food shopping and didn’t have to worry if I spent too much . Enjoyed the day and that nasty urge didn’t get into my head once. This time feels different for me and for all of us ladies. I really want to live a gf life.
Sosad I really like the name so strong. We will all feel strong when we open our statements. Great pictures. I have to work on a picture. I’m not technical. But I’ll figure it out.

Carol I’m about as technical as barney rubble so if I can get a pic up you’ve got no excuse:). I don’t know how any of us got here but so so glad we did. Ok the day we open the statement I’ll change my name to strong mop:)). We’ve come so far but still got a way to go yet, so much needs buying, pegs, tea towels, descaler,weed killer, glass jugs, mixing bowls oh the list is endless:). Ooh and a massage!!
What a lovely few messages to read when I logged on- it’s fate we all arrived here I think- I feel so pleased that I have found this lovely support from a bunch of clearly lovely , funny and strong people. As you say carol, we are not alone with this anymore. I was thinking yesterday, just havin the chance to speak so openly for the first time has lifted a big weight off my shoulders. And to hear other people’s stories that are so similar to my own means such a lot. One of the biggest things for me was that I turned so sneaky and I had such a lot of shame for that, as that just isn’t me. Even though I don’t really know any of you, I am so fond of our mop club and I have so much respect for you all. You’ve made a big difference to my ability to beat this and I can’t thank you enough. Just wait till we start reading statements and getting treats ladies! Wow!!! :)) mine will be 1st Feb- bring on the smellies :)))) x

Hi Mary- if you want to do like a day by day diary there is a section in the forum so I think you just start a new thread there 🙂 obviously more than welcome to post whatever you want here too 🙂 we are all here for support
Brilliant, I like you lot lol. I was addicted to online slots, but several months ago I got gamban which stopped me, it’s good to see the bank statements no littered with outgoings to gambling sites. However I go into arcades now to play and occasionally bookies. Luckily the mist I spend is the money I’ve won, ie I won 1000 on a slot and had basically put it back in within a fortnight! So I know I’m never actually gonna make any money! It’s bloody annoying when I think about what I could spend the money on, it’s the urge to win the 500 jackpot that gets me. I’m not stupid I know there is only one winner, if I win I will walk out, but keep it in my purse and go back until it’s gone. I look at others in the shop and wonder how they can afford to sit there hours on end.

Mary - I think we have all been where you are and chasing that big win. To me, i came to realise that I am never going to be a winner and gambling won’t ever make me money. Yes I may win sometimes or break even but ultimately, I have lost thousands and thousands. It’s like you said, the urge is overwhelming and the belief that we just might win the big one- but that’s the addiction voice speaking. It plays with your belief system and the chemicals in your brain. I won’t feed the gambling industry any more of my hard earned money and I made the decision to stop completely and although it’s hard- it’s the best thing I did. Being on here and listening to how others lives have been ruined and seeing the strength to beat this has been so helpful. I know not everyone is the same but I hope in time you can liberate yourself completely if that’s what you choose to do. I’m just taking it all day by day and I log on here every day to join in , hopefully support others, Have a giggle and to feel very supported by everyone on here 🙂 let’s do it!!
