Hi sbisstopping, Alan and Tomh,

I need to stop i definately will try all over again. I appreciate all the support i get on here. I just need action not words.

Toad needs to leap into a better future. Leap to a new place free from gambling. A tranquil place and to be happy.

Paul.

Hi All,

Good to get talking to people in the chatroom. It makes me realise how far i have come with peoples support.

2 years ago i looked in the mirror and saw a pale reflection. A husk of a man that I christened toad. I felt ugly in my membrane. But today i feel more like myself.

Yes today was a bad day but i am positive. I am sure i will beat this
In fact i know i will. Toad believes himself. It's time for toad to leap forward and go forth bravely.

Toad.

Morning all,

In great form today. Feeling happy. At the doctors And heading to work now. They said i needed to do a liver test again. I hope all my drinking hasn't damaged me.

I brought some x-box games to pawn. I need to start clearing my stuff if we are moving.

No temptation to gamble. I might grab a coffee before i hop to work.

Have a great day everyone. Stay away from the bookies. Leap over it like toad does. Leap, leap, leap

That's it you can do it.

I'm back,

Fell off the lilly pad.
Pawned 2 x-box games and got £8. Then fed the fobt and lost it all.

I don't feel anything. I will bring nothing tomorrow. The only good thing was i bought chicken sandwiches before i did the cash in. Toad needs fed.....

Not to worry. Stay positive and enjoy what's left of the day.

No point beating myself up anymore.

Pick myself up and dust myself down.

Toad.

Sometimes it's about you Paul , any exclusion can be got around , you can alway's find one more bookies to play a Fobt in , I always offer my support unconditionally to those making an effort to stop gambling but were back to the old saying of " Nothing changes if nothing changes " , If you don't want to give up Paul then so be it , just accept that it's not for you and carry on having a few quid here and there and be happy but if you really do want to be gamble free , then just give it your all for once .

You deserve it Paul, your family deserve it and also the good members of the forum who offer there continued support deserve it too .

Just make the right decision Paul !

Best wishes Alan

I'd echo Alan's thoughts again. Worry? No ,but give it your all. All the best tri

Hi Toad,

Sorry you fell of that lily pad! The number of times I have pawned stuff on a Saturday thinking now I will have a great weekend out with the kids only to find a bookies next door... and you know the rest! I hppe you can survive to payday and climb pack on the pad.

I think you left a message for Strange on my diary by mistake by the way.

Best wishes,

Mark

Have you got the message yet and self excluded?

Until you do you will continue to gamble.

Time to follow the advice you've repeatedly been given.

Any further advice is futile until you make that step.

Self exclude from ALL bookies and online sites.

In my humble opinion you do not want to stop gambling and that is highlighted by the spending of dinner money, wife sending you money and pawning items - all to gamble.

Advice has been and continues to be provided to you which you claim to understand but never act on. This happens on a daily basis.

I for one will be pleased if you make a month, 6 months , year free gambling. At present you abstain in hours, minutes and seconds.

If you want to play on the fobt then do it.

Deep down is that what you want or do you just want to stop losing.

Think you need a strategy change

Best wishes

Hi Balvaird and all thankyou for the advice,

It's back to the drawing board. I will think alot. Do a postmortem to see what happened in the death of Paul.

Toad will hop back. I hammer my chest like tarzan. I can take criticism and bounce back. I am Toad, warts and all. I am determined as a man climbing everest i have fire in my belly.

Watch this space.
Toad.

Right toad. ..or Paul....I don't want this to come across the wrong way but....COME ON...get a grip here....if you REALLY want to quit the vile cycle of gambling addiction....PLEASE PLEASE...take notice of what all the lovely people are saying to you on here...AND find that very sad post when you wrote about your in-laws...your wife...house etc. ..REMEMBER how low you felt. ..how scared you were about your future...think ahead a bit...IVF. ..if successful....and I deeply hope it is...the outcome of that will be a little BABY...your baby...who will need you for every single thing in its life...if your still in the depths of your gambling addiction....do you think you can do that !
Ok...so this all may sound a tad harsh...but I'm doing it...several on here are doing it...and we've all struggled at different levels loads of times...but we're getting there....we're recovering...because were serious...and we're TRYING
X

In my eyes, any bet is damaging.

Do you have every block in place to ensure that your upcoming payday isn't a monumental disasterr?

Hi Gary,

For the last 2 years every month my wages are paid to my wife.

This February was the only month i didn't resulting in me spending ВЈ1700 in 2 days. ( my wages ) plus i borrowed £40 from a mate to get drunk.

So yes that is my major block. Without me making these changes my credit score would not have went from poor to excellent and we are buying a nice detached house.

So yes some progress has been made but more is required.

Toad.
