Steve,
You've done it before but can't be complacent, put as many blocks in any possible, keep yourself busy and stay strong through the urges, it is possible. I read the success stories in the forum last night, good to see that it is possible. Keep strong, BL

update no change seem to come here after a maga gambling spree and loss life sucks at the moment
Just think , Steve; you're working a long, hard shift and gambling the income you've hard-earned from that shift, and probably more, on a soulless computer program that has a few flashing lights and lasts about an hour. You never win, anything you do win just gets lost again very quickly. Is that a fair trade of your time and effort?
You've got to get off this 'hamster wheel' because it makes so sense.
Why not phone Gamcare up and talk it through; you realise you can't carry on like this.
Steve, like Mixer has said, seems you know you can't carry on like this. So, what is it that is allowing you to continue. Long before getting your head straight and working through the issues, you've absolutely got to get all the blocks in place. What is it at the moment which is facilitating your gambling .... and more importantly, can you put something in place which means it can't? ISP parental filters, mobile phone companies, blocking software, online and offline self-exclusion, destroying or handing over your bank cards, giving up access to your passport and driving license. If you can do all of those things, you should be able to make it so difficult to gamble, you'd give up trying. Then, you can work on you. Really wish you the best of luck, whatami.
thank you for your replies i have taken the step of installing gamban on my computer .
so today will be my first day of non gambling as i am at work at 6 pm hope it works i have no intrest in bookies or arcades is just the online stuff that was killing me once again thanks for the replies
Best of luck pal.
Well done Steve on making this massive commitment. It might seem hard right now but it will sure help you not to lose any of your hard earned salary. Like you, I would work so hard all month but in my darkest times, would have lost all of my money in a matter of hours! The thought of that now is just awful.
Chin up, things will definitely get better with a little patience and effort on your part.
Take care.
Our Lady.
