Nobody can force you mate, but I would just go not consider it, just get yourself off

I would imagine you come out of the meeting feeling better and stronger and less likely to go back to gambling...your only 1 second away from a bet.

Good luck

i was forced into GA last time think that was part of the problem well force is the wrong word strongly encouraged or leave was the choice if thats a choice

know similar ultimatums may get me back for a period of time but its what i do when im there that matters

i could just drink coffee and biscuits and write texts if i wanted to or i can listen to what they say

big difference in intention and results?

Get to it mate, or else its only a matter of time before the urges beat you

This place alone is not enough for most, The only time I managed long abstinance was through GA, and keeping busy with other things (crucial) take up a long lost hobby etc etc

but please try a meet, you sound like you need one, Go asap mate

It sounds like you need the extra help! This is the first time I have admitted a problem and at the moment I'm happy with my progress on here. That's not saying that I may need help in the future. My wife controls the cash now and has access to my online banking - I'm feeling positive, one step at a time. Day 12 now and I can just about touch the 2 weeks.

Good luck!

Hi

Thanks for you post in my diary. I have had counselling and been to GA. They both work to an extent but you have to keep on reminding yourself of all the hurt it has caused in your life; and in my case other peoples lives. This time I'm not just giving up for me but also my family. Stay strong.

ye was good to do something normal for a change life on the other side is much better, maybe we go through this to make ourselves realise how good life is , and for me it has shown me money aint everything and i mean that , personally i always wanted to be a millionaire , not bothered by that now ye it would still be nice , but it really wouldnt make you happy as you have to find the happiness without money then if you have money that just a bonus that makes life easier, sorry for my woffle juat had a thought you know what its like, but its good how your friends supporting you , keep going my friend

Hi Triangle, hope things went well yesterday. I know what you mean about thinking you have gambling best and it creeping back on you. I hold on to the fact that every day we don't gamble is progress. We may have to go through the urges and the odd relapse but as long as we keep coming back, keep posting and keep getting better at abstention then we are winning.
