Congratulations ItMatters - a very important milestone today; and a springboard for the infinitely better days ahead. Day by day, it can be done! I wish you all the very best.

Thanks everyone for your support, I couldn't of got this far without you all!

Just one bet has the potential to spiral so I have said goodbye to gambling for good, I think it's the only way to succeed.

104 days GF

The biggest thing on my mind today is why did I choose such a stupidly long username! Logging in is a nightmare.

The football season is underway and I am getting frustrated for reasons unrelated to gambling which I like. My team were favourites amongst the bookies to win the league - we are languishing at the bottom of the table. You would have to be an idiot to bet on football it's so unpredictable, I'm not an idiot anymore.

More determined with each day to confine gambling to the past.

111 days GF and "I am cured"...

is something anyone on this forum can never say. Cured to me means that you can safely bet and walk away whether you win or lose. Unfortunately our brains don't work like that, they don't allow for safe gambling so we must not ever have that first bet/spin.

I am cured in the sense that I don't have an urge to bet (at the moment). But I am always on my guard - news like *** offering odds on a dead Aston villa player to be next Blues manager shows a lack of care by the industry - perhaps it was an error by an individual, or perhaps it was a publicity stunt who knows?

The first bet is the worst! Stay GF.

You're exactly right ItMatters. We are never cured, but we can keep, day by day, in abeyance. (There's a word I haven't heard for a while!).

***'s behaviour was disgusting; they knew exactly what they were doing. It's this cynical marketing the Government really needs to stamp down on.

Congrats on hitting "all the ones" and looking forward, in around 3 years, to you hitting "all the ones" again - 1111!

Quite right - It.matters. I echo Mixers comments. At least you acknowledge the truth that this addiction, like many others will probably never be cured. But what doesn't break you makes you stronger.

Listening to a phone in on talksport re: gambling - the irony of a station that is sponsored heavily by gambling talking about responsible gambling - should be interesting.

124 days GF.

Still reading posts but not posting much these days - new hobbies and keeping busy. I am still as determined as ever to remain GF. Keeping busy seems to keep me out of trouble 🙂
