Thank you for the encouraging post on my diary. I have a feeling that this time I will be able to follow your excellent example and stay gamble free.

I am feeling a little apprehensive as I have an operation for cataracts on my right eye tomorrow. They will do the left one in several weeks time if all goes well. (I will stay off my tablet for a few days to rest my eye). Anyway my friend, if you could some me some Sharon Healing Vibes tomorrow at 1-00 that would be greatly appreciated...stephen x

Looking at your profile page, the 600 Days Gamble Free looks so so good.

I have always been greatly impressed by your attitude to recovery. You have always been modest whilst showing courage, integrity and inner strength. The addiction tried using remorse,shame and guilt to drag you back but you stood your ground and refused to give in.

Thank you for the support you have always given me. Admittedly I have stumbled a few times but am slowly getting there.

Day 600

Well I don't post here that much but I do try yo check in daily to catch up, touch base but more than anything to remind myself of the place gambling took me to. What I originally thought was a black hole with no escape, but the combination of the feeling of desperation and knowing I couldn't keep going down the road I was travelling has slowly led me to recovery. In a way this journey has taught me more about myself in a short space of time than the rest of my adult life. So thank you gamcare and every diary I have read. To every member who has made me feel I am not a lost cause and alone. May we all be GF and look forward any way we can. Take care S :¥

Hello Sharon. I hope you are happy and well. Congratulations on your excellent progress. You really are quite special, a beacon of light up ahead in the distance, 610 days away from your last gamble.

You have a busy life and understandably you don't very often post on your own diary nowadays but it is heartwarming to see the lovely posts you leave as you tip-toe around the diaries

I am pleased to say that I have finally seen the light and am now on a mission to stay gamble free. If ever the addiction tries to sow seeds of doubt in my mind I will look at the example set by friends such as yourself.

When I first came to the diaries I was 56 days behind you and that's how it stayed for 6 months. Than sadly I lost my way on several occasions. I was pathetic, weak and foolish. However, I am now blessed with a different mindset, I feel more capable and have more understanding.

Today I am 13 days gamble free and 597 days behind you. I certainly won't be giving in again...stephen

Your journey of recovery is a great source of inspiration for me. It tells me that I don't have to be ruled over by the gambling addiction and that I can take back control of my life.
