Reached the 3 week or 21 day gambling free mark. Starting to get on a better path financially. Had a look at a bet today which ironically wudda won, but i didnt do it. Could well of lost if i did bet but know just that first bet and even a win and get money back would've been good, but it would set me back on that path again and ultimately have to start all over again month or so down the line.
I think of my future gambling free and how it will benefit me long term personally, as in 4 years of working life i started with nothing and have nothing still - all down to gambling.
I think of my dads reaction and hurt in his voice when i think of betting again, couldn't bare to do that to him again, thats how i know i will beat this
The urges have been strong, but love for my family is stronger, thats whats important, money can be earned back, at the end of the day enjoy life with people you love, gambling is not needed.

Hi Joydivider,

Thanks for the post, feel good not betting yesterday was such a big urge but proud of myself, gonna be tight financially and working 6 days a week for a few months mainly just to keep busy as cant gamble at work. Starting to enjoy life more and although thinking about it alot, no stress on waiting for bets etc is good. Retro games buying and selling sounds intruiging, whats that involve? Need to find myself a hobby to get involved in, got a holiday in June as a goal to reward the 3 months gamvle free, if i gamble won't go! Little motivators help, good luck in your recovery also.

Yeah i know what you mean. Betting is so much down to luck, one bad call, missed putt, offside goal etc impossible to call. Very few make money off it, some can control losses and others it can ruin. Sadly i fall into the later, although a positive is i'm still relatively young, have realised i have a problem and can still have a bright future. Longest i've been without a bet now in over 2 years (makes you realise how much time gambling consumes you) so treated myself to a Nando's 🙂 Enjoying life again and feel positive for the future, gambling is still my vice but i don't have to and tefuse to act on it.
Glad to hear your doing well and on the right path.
