Hi all
I'm really passionate about this site and how much it's helped me, many thousands and continues to do so. It worries me that there are 1.4 million compulsive gamblers in the UK, 8.4 million harmed others and another 2 million in danger of becoming harmed by gambling. That said the chatrooms on here attract around 15 people each night. For anyone reading this who hasn't been to a chatroom they are amazing. You will get so much support on there and can support others. Although we all have different journeys that arrived on this site, all of us resonate with each other in some aspect of our gambling so why not give them a try ?
Also, of all the members on here, there is usually only 2 or 3 new topics each day where people share their stories and reach out. It's perfectly safe and I hope anyone reading this decides to put their own topic up. Others will reply and it never ceases to amaze me, the amount of support and love in this community from other gamblers in recovery, the peer supporters and forum admins.Â
Just try it and it could change your lifeÂ
Stuart I admire your passion in helping others to stay away from this horrible gambling disease. Yes, the chatroom is an excellent platform to air our gambling issues, plus getting good advice from fellow chat mates on how to face the difficulties that gambling brought us. I highly recommend it.Â
The one who are passionate are in Ga i will give them this my local has around 12 people ranging from 5 - 20+ years bet free thats just in my local town their around 25-30 people on average i said this before people slack off some people do remain bet free as i do know few people who are i was fortunate when i started their were 3 promising people on here otherwise if their was none i would have left if it was anything like my Ga their would be alot more people another thing in Ga u get few positive people after some time their lives totally changed an addict needs a drive its like a salesman not pashionate about its products i understand some people have mental health issues and gambling addiction is icing on the cake however their very few people who actually talk about the benefits like the Andrew guy on youtube u can tell he apprecate it and he seems to be at peace
I've read this forum for donkeys years and about 90% of people I see turn up will only do so when their at rock bottom looking for some magic fix to all their financial woes
I think a lot are looking for a place to let the skeletons out of the closet then once they've got more access to funds or someones offered a bail out its business as usual
its why the relapse rate in gambling is astronomically highÂ
The ones serious about stopping will usually be around here for yearsÂ
