First day here. Known for several years now have an addiction. On Gamstop, have gambling blocks and still manage to gamble and always way above my means. Get paid then literally sit through the night till its gone, even if I win I continue to play till everything is gone. Ive been so very lucky with financial gains from other means and have managed to lose it all. I feel disgusted with myself but cant seem to stop.
 I'm only 4 days into my journey of recovery, but what I can tell you is the hardest thing was starting and accepting it and finding help, be proud of that regardless of all the negatives thoughts, always leave room for a little light and this site has so much that can help from the online community to the chatrooms, 24hr line or email and phone support. Take one day at a time and assess each day and do your best to be better the next one. I'm by no means an expert but that's what's helped me this far, best of luck

Congratulations on making a positive step and coming onto Gamcare. You can do this if you want it and there are tools to make things easier, not easy but easier. Once you can sort out your brain then you can experience a much better life. First thing to do is draw a line under the past. The money has gone and is not coming back through gambling. I would suggest the next thing to do is speak to the very wise and helpful advisors on here. Just click the talk to someone and either use live text chat or phone them. They can help change your life, they did for me and I gambled for 44 years.
If you want to ask any other questions just put a post on your diary and I will answer but it's important to try and get into the chatrooms. The one at 8pm each night is full of helpful people who are a long time gamble free and can support you. This community does not judge, there isn't anything you could say that someone else on here hasn't done so don't beat yourself up - it's addiction and once you learn more about it then it makes sense as none of us are bad people even though we have thought we are
