I recently relapsed after not gambling much for five years due to personal and work stress. I was limiting myself to a certain amount a day and using a site I could easily withdraw winnings from. Then one day I was super super lucky, and won, I started withdrawing but you could just cancel and almost immediately I was betting that away. Then the run changed and I lost over and over again, betting more and more and more. On my last bet, I lost it all.Â
since then I’ve consistently lost every penny and run up a loss of about €5k.

i went back to what I know, cancelled cards, installed Gamban, put a block on bank account and moved most money to a joint with my partner.

as she always said, because I’m a compulsive gambler, I just need to remember a simple truth - whenever I deposit money, it’s gone right then and there. Whatever I win I will eventually gamble away, and whatever I lose I will chase and make worse.

if I want satisfaction I have to find it in other places less damaging.
