I only started gambling last November after a trip to vegas. I LOVED it there. But I managed to stay in control of my losses and justified what I did loose to myself and my partner as just what you do when you're there.

One of the first things I did when I got home tho was find the on line roulette sites. It started as 20 and 30 quid. I lost hundreds in a few weeks. And I stopped. It was enough for me, I already had a massive credit card bill from my holiday. That was it.

Then my partner and her family were putting money on the boxing day races and I was right back in. I won a few quid and I went for it back on the tables. The next thing I'd spent my rent money and I was lieing to people to get bills covered. That's when I discovered pay day loans and things really took a turn for the worse.

Then I had a big win. I was 10 grand up and loving life. I came clean to my partner, we paid back all our debts, gambling and other, and started to look at a better future....

next thing I was back on. It wasn't over. I couldn't let it go. Things have spiralled out of all control. I couldnt tell anyone and just got deeper and deeper in debt. Ive sold my car and in the last couple of weeks I've taken loans in other peoples names. all in I owe 80 grand. I know it's time to stop and come clean. I'm going to lose my relationship and I'd guess most of my friends (one of the loans is for 25000 in one friends name. It's unforgivable )

I don't even know how to feel. I'm just lost.

I am here, all I can offer is a recognition in your actions as I too in the past have commited fraudulent activity to meet my addiction.

80K debt. Okay I am a bit of a financial wizzard ... being reclusive means I have a lot of time to research.

Your lost in an addiction, one so secrect it grows because we hide, lie, cheat and hurt others. That is not who we are inside without this addiction.

I need to undserstand is it slots ? I have lost over half a million over the years and the love of my life.

Do you feel like your floating in space ? I ask as thats how i feel.

It is roulette, apologies. My anxiety jumps. How have you managed 80k debt. Can you tell your partner and do you own your own home ?

Whatever you do, do not suffer alone. Do not waste the rest of your life looking back at what this addiction costs

Hello soo

Welcome to the forum.

The important thing to do is to stop now and try to deal with the debt in the best and most manageable way.

The temptation to chase the losses with big bets needs to be closed. I'd recommend installing blocking software if you gamble online.

I think the best thing to do is get the best advice to fully understand what options are available for you. I had huge debts myself all from gambling. I'd suggest phoning Citizens Advice, GamCare and StepChange in that order.

You might still feel lost but should come away with a clearer idea which path to follow so long-term you are able to deal with this addiction and its ramifications.

Best wishes

Glint

I also have done despicable things to feed my addiction including steeling from my own family.

I dont wish to rub salt in to your wounds but you should contact a solicitor you could be facing charges of credit fraud when your friends find out you used there names to optain credit.it is a serious offence

My advice for what it is worth if you have equity in your home sell the house use the money to pay the loans then tell your friends.

If none of them press charges you can rebuild your life
