New to forums

re my last post, diary started. Not the usual diary but it's helping me cope.

I took so much comfort from your mails!

I was like a zombie every time I went on online bingo and the slots were so addictive. They made me feel stupid when I couldn't stop over & over. It feels so good to be away from them. I don't even do the lotto now since my quit day of 13th June.

Did you have a lovely weekend without online gambling? I really hope so.

We are both another couple of days gambling free over the weekend and hopefully it should get easier as time goes by.

I would love to keep in touch with you.... imagine Christmas morning and we mailing each other to say we are gambling free for 6 months!

It would be the best Christmas ever. Wouldn't it be great??

We'll just take it one day at a time and get there!

I live in the west of Ireland and rang a gambling helpline as there are no counsellors in the area. They spoke to me for an hour and are ringing back for the next session. Are you sure there are no services like that for you? The bookies pay for the counsellors so that it is free for us.

Thank you for your post. Now day 8 for me. Sunday was a bad day. I was a bit bored and usually would turn to gambling but I didn't. I must find things to occupy myself now that I have time on my hands. Was very busy at work yesterday and today so not too bad and, because I am a Ding Dong Avon rep, I have been doing my order tonight. I haven't seen any gambling helplines in Guernsey and there definitely isn't a GA. I tried hypnosis but that didn't work and I must have read every self-help book going. Self-exclusion and a good PC block are working for me as well as the support and encourage from these forums.

I too would love to keep in touch with you and Christmas will definitely be better this year, gamble free and not having to borrow money to buy presents for the grandchildren. I can't believe I was ever so stupid to start gambling but that is behind me .... and you.... now. Look to the future.

I will be updating my diary either tonight or tomorrow. Just got to finish my Avon order before the 10.00 deadline. Think I will order myself something nice to pamper me as a treat 🙂

Perhaps I should post on my diary from now on. Although, still newbies I guess we are past the new members forum. I'm not really sure how it works as I have never joined a forum before.

Hi there this is the first time I've tried this. But my gambling is out of control and I really need to do something about and thought this might be a good start.
