Today marks 130 days gamble free.Â
I often look back over 12 years of my addiction, wishing to myself….If only I had of quit back then when I did 100 days here, 50 days there gamble free and how financially better off I would be.Â
For me the absolute devastation of dealing with putting right my financial affairs & addiction is still playing heavy on my mind, the loss of a bet, the sleepless nights, the anxiety, the alopecia through stress, the not feeling present in the moment when trying to have a conversation because all you are thinking about is how I’ve lost 10k in 15 minutes.Â
However to move forward, we must forgive ourselves of the past. My forgiveness to myself will happen when I reach my goal of being debt free. That is when I personally can forgive myself and move on from this horrible disease.Â
£1000 a month out my my wages to this addiction debt is the cruel reminder of how bad things had got after 250k losses. April sees my debt fall below 40k which is a massive achievement for me and which drives me forward to the end of next year being under 20k.Â
Thank you all.Â
Massive congrats on 130 days!Â
It is so hard not to look back and regret but it is so important to keep reflecting on how far you have came.Â
Being debt free is a really good goal, still try and enjoy the right now and be present like you said.Â
Wishing you all the best, will look out for your future updates 🙂Â
Mate i totally understand where u are coming from the debt itself is a massive trigger for past actions the main thing is remaining bet free which in a few years the debt will be gone sadly their no short cuts and each day u remain bet free will contribute towards the debt sadly in terms of gambling it can takes decades to recover due to how much gambling is capable of ruining life i spoke to a guy who been bet free 15 years who lost his farm to his addiction surely u would think he would have been able to move on he still paying the concequences for his past actions has he would have retired had it not been for his gambling sadly the only way forward is to accept the past has it standsÂ
Well done King.
keep going and keep distancing yourself even further from you last bet!👊💪.
Hope you have a lovely Easter 🐣.

Hi my friend
I know it's tough. The sanity you have now, you didn't have before so couldn't have stopped earlier. I also think you wouldn't be where you are now without the past. You can use the past to drive you even harder forward. If you had of given up 100 days earlier who is to say you wouldn't have relapsed worse than ever ? If that different direction was taken you could have walked across the road and got run over as your path would be different.
I'm sure you learn from your mistakes and I love your countdown to being debt free. If the 1000 is affordable go with it but if not reduce it down to an affordable amount ? Is the interest frozen and have you told them about the gambling addiction as they can help
I don't know your circumstances but I've received some refunds from payday loan companies and banks by telling them where they shouldn't have lent the money. All helps to getting the debt down
@lp5vut869c Good Morning Stuart, all my credit cards are at 0% interest rates and I shift them around when the rate ends. I of course have to pay the transfer fee each time which is about 4% of the balance but it prevents any additional interest.Â
I cant really reduce my monthly payments as they are the minimum payments, some companies have a minimum 2.5% payment a month & some have only 1%. Keeping my payment to £1000 isn’t easy but it shortens the overall goal of being debt free 👊Â
It’s a double edged sword of I get paid well but if I didn’t then maybe my borrowing power wouldn’t have been there in the first place. Meaning my rock bottom would have come about a lot sooner.Â
@j5a6meyr4z Thank you and congratulations on 200 days recently.
Hi Kickstart
I do love your dedication and plan to get the debt paid off. I really admire that mate and see it keeps you going. I see you are tackling it with milestone moments and at least each month you can see it coming down which must make you feel good ?
