As I’m writing this surrounded by house moving boxes I just wanted to provide an update on my situation.
im 7 months GF now his weekend. 7 months ago I went to view our dream house with my wife. I told her I didn’t like the house in order to hide my gambling and the debts that I had built up. I was at my lowest, lower than I had ever been before, where I was thinking of ways out, in a dark way knowing my life insurance woumd set my family up for life.
Then the pressure became too much, I broke down to my wife about everything. She was my rock, I seeked the help needed and had weekly sessions.
It was hard but I wanted to do this for myself and mainly my beautiful family.
unfortunately o the dream house sold and we both had a little cry about it and focused on our future reducing debts and  looking at other houses.
Then in October the dream home came back on the market, sold ours and put an offer in and it was accepted and we are moving tomorrow.
i just wanted people to know that things do get better, you need to seek the help, out your phone down, get bans in place. You have to be committed to beating this illness.
7 months ago my world was falling apart, tomorrow we start a new exciting chapter in our family in journey, one I never thought would be possible 7 months ago.

be strong, be kind to yourself and talk to people.😌

Hi @ir5f2s86ma,Â
I just wanted to say how lovely it was to read this. 😊 It's a truly positive outcome and proof that things do get better and people can get help and move forward.Â
I'm wishing you all the best of luck for the future, for your continued recovery and the move! (I know how stressful moving can be!)Â
I also wish you lots of happy memories in your dream home with your family.Â
Kind Regards,Â
JadeÂ
Just goes to show that life will weave it's own way for each of us but always works out without gambling. You must be so please and also to be 7 months GF. Stay strong. Keep at it. Watch out for complacency and blind spots thinking but it sounds like you are extremely determined and the fact you have done it for yourself (and family) means you are betting on yourself. That's one bet you can't afford to lose
Affected by gambling?
