Hi Recovery Heavily,

Welcome to the GamCare Forum and thank you for sharing your experiences with us. It sounds like you are feeling ready to make some changes for yourself and we are here to support you with that.

It's good that you are being open about what you are going through with those around you, it might also be helpful to speak to your GP or University about your feelings of depression to get some support with that. You don't have to cope with this on your own.

If you haven't already please reach out to our helpline by live chat or by calling 0808 8020 133 and you can speak with an adviser about the gambling recovery support available to you.

Take care,

Amy

I went through something very similar at your age. A win made it stick around in my head, and even when I wanted to stop it never really left.

Losing money can knock your motivation and mood hard, so feeling low right now makes sense. Opening up to your family was a strong move. Therapy at university helped me, but the reset really started with taking things one day at a time, not trying to fix everything at once.

You are not behind and you are not broken. Wanting to stop at 19 already puts you in a better place than many of us were.
