So in summary. Gambled for 20 years.

First 10 years lost big. Loans. The lot, you know how it goes. A real problem.

The last 7 years ish since had a house + fam Iv stuck to deposit limits, and largely not got myself in trouble Bills paid, go on holidays, family okay. "Fifty quid on a weekend is acceptable. I won't bet again till sat"

But is anybody else just bored of losing the deposit limit constantly? Even when I win most goes back in. that initial 30 mins of anger when a last min goal does my acca. Constantly checking the scores on a weekend.

Anybody else reasonably 'have it under control' but just stopped and thought enoughs enough and break the cycle?

Hi Blue

Sounds like you have found the answer yourself there. Although I think the slogan is a complete joke, in terms of your comment above - When the fun stops stop. I stopped in November after 44 years. I wasn't in control but when I finally gave up I realised the damage I had done wasn't just financial. It was mentally and physically to me and loved ones.

No one can make the decision for you and I'm not the best person to answer your topic as I couldn't do anything responsibly

Stopped punting football in 2024 , something changed after covid too many strange results , VAR and far far too many games on 7 days a week

The new champions leauge format is a mockery

The whole thing has become like a gigantic global private equity firm

The clubs know it , the players know it , the fans know it

I know blokes shelling out 600 quid a month just to follow away games in the championship its not sustainable

Everyones just pretending all is well

Truth is the game is cooked , and the odds have gone absolutely shocking on matches too

1\1 for a player to be carded .... don't make me laugh

Mugs game

Cheers for the replies lads.

In regards to your comment with 600 a month im one of them LOL (not that much tho although 36 quid average away tkt is silly now). ST holder for 30 years. Go home and away.

Again, love it keeps me busy. But I'll even be constantly on my phone checking scores during the games.

I'll have my first weekend off this weekend in forever. No more eyeing up early KO and late KO to slap a bet on in the boozer before and after games.

My biggest worry is everyoneeee of my mates around football/boozers bet but I'll have some will power for once

For me this reads like you are very emotionally attached to gambling. Every gambler feels in control......until they are not. It's a cliff edge walk, that almost always ends one way. You describe your gambling as though you depend on it weekly, as part of your life. The fact you put winnings straight back in and get annoyed when you can't deposit more is a big red flag. You know you have to break that cycle, or you wouldn't be here. Do it now before the cliff gets you!
