ok, one week on and i feel i am winning the battle, early days i know but the urge is not there at the moment. getting the weekend out of the way was a big bonus, next week end will be a test though as i will have a bit more time as i dont have my kids to occupy my mind.

well done mate! I'm on day 12 and can't deny the urges have been there, but I really want to do this. Used the money that I would bet on the weekend to buy clothes, which as certainly helped. I would easily go through £100 per week on the football, with the occasional devastating visit to an online casino. It's crazy to think what you can buy for yourself without the wasteful money to that horrible addiction.
Stay focused and we can kick this. We're all in this together.

i completley understand the keeping busy thing , i only have my son every other weekend and a little in the week each week , but on the weekend i dont have him it is the hardest time for sure , keep strong mate we can all do this , plan a run or somethin g whatever to fill your time , thanks simon
thanks for the encouragement lads, like you say we are all in this together. i am changing jobs in october and this will help bigtime as i will not have much time on my hands through the week as i am finishing my business and becoming an employee in the family business.
keeping busy is the key and getting aims/goals i have over 20k in stock in my golf shop and my goal is to have 20k in the bank starting my new job in 6 months time. the problem is when i have had any money in the bank i have had the urge to gamble. not this time, this is my last chance fir a clean break.
