I have just read those three tiny words in someone else's recovery diary. I'm sorry if they were yours and I have pinched them from you. What you were saying was that it's still the same mindset/behaviour/personality trait that's at play whatever the amount. Our psyche isn't bothered with figures, it's only concerned with emotional hurt and pain. That's why I'm not that pleased that despite spending several £1000's I have not lost a single penny. I've lost in other ways - big style. So I'm going to try and re-start my diary and see where it will lead. Simple, short and succinct, I hope. I'm just going to call a "spade, a spade" and try my hardest to not get too emotional. Tomorrow is the first day of a very long metophorical train journey and I'll be checking in later today to board with my "ticket", Thanks for reading to the end.

Still the same day. On awaking not feeling so strong, a bit wobbly. Just have to wait and see.

I have been playing down remaining monies in my accounts today, obviously no new transactions have taken place. Made a call to an online site that I deposited to before my new Diary. I had given them £10.00 deposit a few days ago, won a meagre £6.00 but they will give me neither back as I have no photo ID, despite giving them everything other than my DNA instead. I am also unable to play the balance down for entertainment value as account is locked. l told the guy if £6.00 in winnings meant that much to the company they could keep it and shut down the account. It shows though what "chancers" we dealing with. Still the old "den of iniquities" but with soundtracks and shiny graphics and fast broadband. So yes, I did play today on the last site that I had remaining money on. I could have "topped up" to bring my credit to the withdrawable minimum but it was £5.00 remaining balance not £50.00 so I just played it through and let it go. The main thing is no new "gambling" money has been spent today in any form. So I'm still stood on the platform waiting for my imaginary train to "Recovery" to arrive but I've got my ticket and I will check in to my Diary when I have left the station. Thanks to anyone that's read this post.

Hi Sapphira,

I hope you board that train. Have you setup Gamstop? The journey might take a while and have stops along the way but it’s in the right direction at least. Board it now. Scott

Well I haven't made any new gambling transactions today so that's a plus. Been calculating my losses for October and I can see a new reckless streak - that bothers me a lot. Been reading many stories today from other people, some of which truly put the fear of G** in me. What a pernicious affliction this gambling thing is. Emotionally, not that well today so dropped a line to the Samaritans. Starting to see gambling for what it is now. In the cold light of day that's a difficult realisation. Found a website where it's possible to obtain email help regarding this gambling and have downloaded a gambling care app, so at least it's a start. Self excluded on some sites as well. See what delight's tomorrow has in store.

Well done on no New gambling. I think the most dangerous thought is that you can win back your losses and beat this in terms of by winning all the money back. I won and others have won their money back but then it either makes them feel like they can actually end up up rather than break even and creates the same situation where you will end up losing again. I wanted to finish up and not only breaking even after all the time I wasted and then look at where it got me. If you are gambling and it’s nothing more than an occasional punt and fun Acca then it’s no problem, if you chase losses and start to suffer from it, you most likely need to 100% stop. I thought I had beaten the bookies, I was so far up...and yet....look at what happened to me and so many others. I have replied to your Post in my diary also. Thanks. All the best. Scott

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are "downfall" days for me. This is because I'm always lured in by the "generous" free spins packages that are available then. Pleased to say I didn't succumb today. Hope I can manage a repeat performance tomorrow. Spent a fair bit reading posts today. Pre-occupied for some reason with checking and double checking my bank statements as if it's imperative that I know to the nearest penny what I have spent. I'm looking forward to the day when my Bank Statements get down to 1 or 2 pages permanently rather than the 8 pages of recent times. I've probably saved at least two trees from a painful end in these past few days alone. My temperament is suffering though, I feel like a monster as I deny myself just a small deposit with all those lovely free spins attached. At least for now I'm still on this train ride, it's more Northern Rail than Virgin Express but at least I'm going in the right direction. Closed down my PayPal account today so that's another positive step.

Hello Slick.

How are you doing. I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier or I'd have answered.

I'm quite new on the forum too but if I recall, you just click on the recovery page tab, as is listed with all the rest on the left hand side of the page and click on "New Topic" and then just go from there. You may have already done it by now. No apologies needed for posting on my diary. Let me know how you get on. Good luck.

I started this Diary on Thursday and I feel so weak and pathetic when I say right now I am desperately tempted to deposit a mini-amount for a bit of escapism.
