I gambled to win money - when I already had all the riches a man could need.

Family, friendship, health, love and trust all thrown to chance for greed of wanting more money.

And to what end ? What would i have done with the extra money anyway ?

I now see that the things i was gambling with are the ultimate prizes in life, way to precious to play games of chance with.

I now hold them tightly to my heart and use them to guide me forward to a happier more fulfilling life, free from worry and risk.

Life is risky enough.

Well done on the milestone, wish you many more as easily as possible.

A suggestion: the help that you need for your own gambling problem can be found exactly where you're looking for it, via counselling and GA. But what about your other problem, the effect that someone else's drinking is having on you? It seems to me that the help you need for that can be found via AlAnon and you might consider looking at their Twenty Questions.

Wish you well.

Hi SBB,

Well done on your 100 days. Happy days!

We discussed GA before and as CW says above it could be worth a go. I have my 5th meeting tonight and it really has been a Godsend for me. I look forward to every Thursday.

Yup, another huge welcome to the Century club Sbb đŸ™‚

Keep working hard @ you & try not to get too bogged down in things outside your control...You can only control your reaction to some things. But, I do also echo the advice about getting support for you as to how best to deal with your wife's addiction...Growing up with an alcoholic isn't much fun & you need to ensure the children are kept safe & nurtured, possibly playing both parental roles which will be extremely challenging!

Congratulations Sbb - 100 up, a great acheivement. And even better knowing that tomorrow is another fresh day to remain GF. I agree with you totally. I'm on Day 43, but no complacency from me, ever.

I toast your good health and wellbeing tonight, Sbb. Sincerely, it is a pleasure to converse with you on these forums.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

Waltzed through the 100 days without as much as a nod or a wink to be honest.

I am not prepared to offer any more time or emotion on someone else's addiction, instead I plan to use my energy to find how best to cope and deal with it when it arises.

All quiet and at peace for now.

I am truely blessed to be able to sit here still with an opportunity to turn this around, still with my family around me, still with friends who care, still in good employment and the ability to pay off my debt.

I am one of life's very fortunate ones, and I wish to use this good fortune to be everything I can be.

May I be successful and act as a role model for my children as well as others who may be seeking some support or direction.

These are my responsibilities and I stand to be counted.
