Well done Charley on reaching 10 days it will be 20 before you know it
Well done Charley - Keep going 🙂
How's it going Charlie..
Into double figures now love..
Hi loxxie, yes not to bad thankyou. I have to be honest I'm thrilled to be at double figures! The real test will be pay day! So desperately need to stay strong. Hope you're doing well xx
Have you thought about handing over financial control? Would make it a whole lot easier not to have the money available. Otherwise, maybe look into some combination of instant saver accounts (cashcard only), direct debits to come out on payday, ordering a new debit card and asking someone else to scratch the code off the back.

Thank you, good idea. I'm going to pay the majority this month towards credit card and I've chopped that up, so can't use that and no idea what my number was, so not able to use that online. So if most of my money goes out and some into my savers, I will set myself so much spending money a week and going to give my card to someone to look after for me. I better get saving for Xmas! Only 95days!! C x
Day 12- woke up feeling great! Really positive and ready for the very busy day ahead! A long day today, so that will keep my mind busy 🙂 Cx
Good on you charlie. ..plodding along steady....that's what makes the days add up...
Don't forget a small treat for yourself on payday. ...recovery doesn't have to be all doom and gloom....after all its not a temporary phase....it's a life long commitment so don't set your self un realistic budgets love...youve got blocks in place to help you.....and remember we can't win...because we can't stop !
Have a great day....sun's shinning here....hope it is where you are x
Thanks Samson. Thank you loxxie, you're absolutely right we can't win because we can't stop! That I'm going to remember! Yes, the sun is shining and always seems to makes things that little easier in my opinion. Yes, you're I think a little treat would be nice, as like you said doesn't all need to be doom and gloom. Thank you!! You've cheered me up 🙂 xx
Hey Charley,
Every day is an opportunity to make it count! Its always different , but equally rewarding to feel You're part of this world. Lil doom & gloom days will still be here (duvet days is a must sometimes lol) but the further in recovery you walk, the better you will feel with yourself. New opportunities will cross path, new ideas, goals and so on..Enjoy them, reach for the stars cause your life is your oyster & you can do anything you set your mind and heart to.
You're doing really well and it's great to see ☺
Make the right choice today & you will wake up with a smile in the morning for sure. Keep the freedom to yourself, you are soo worth it!

Day 13/14- I didn't get chance to write in yesterday, hectic day! Well, I'm actually surprised how fast the last few days have gone to make up the 14 days. Thank you all for your support and advice. I might not of stuck to this site without getting advice from people in a similar position. So thank you all Cx
Day 15- thank goodness I've got gambling blocks in place, late last night I had a huge urge to put 'one £20 on, but thankfully I couldn't because of the blocks! I'd of woke up this morning feeling, sick, disgusted, disappointed, guilty and more so although I'm not happy with myself for having such a strong urge, im glad I couldn't put £20 on as I know it wouldn't of stopped at £20! And even if I win £100, I'd of probably tried to carry on and win £200 or eventually that £100 is of out pack in. I've never been so up and down with emotions as much as this journey...trying to become gf! Anyway I'm starting the day on a positive and it could of been a disaster! I've got a nice day planned with friends, so I'll write in later. C x
Hi Charley - Your post stresses the importance of putting in place as many blocks as possible, as there will be times when you really want to gamble. I am particularly edgy about when I am due to get paid next week - thats usually my big spending day! Have a nice daye with your friends knowing your still gf.
x
You're absolutely right Athena, as if those blocks weren't in place, it would be a truly different story this morning and not a good one! Yes, I will be the same next week...pay day! But my blocks are in place thankfully! Thank you, have a nice gf day too x
Well done charley in your early journey too become gamble free. It never gets easier cause the temptation is always there but it gets easier too live with. You become a better person and realise that gambling is not a life for you. Stay strong keep coming on here and reading how deadly gambling can be and that your not alone. Good luck for a gf life stay strong.
