24 days free of gambling

169 days to go (24 until 2 week holiday)

Thanks Mark for your words, glad you can take some pointers from my diary. Will read your diary in a bit always refreshing to read about similar people in this position and how they are getting on.

So feeling much better today, really productive day at work and had a good clear out as am off for 3 days now. Chilling in the garden while the sun is out, no gambling distractions. Usually I would love 3 days off as I can focus on gambling and bet on games I can do a bit of research on but that often lead to massive losses as I wouldn't be able to stop. Next 3 days will be all about my recovery and enjoying the simple things in life like friends, music and the great outdoors.

25 days free of gambling

168 days to go (23 until 2 week holiday)

200 pounds saved.

Great day at alton towers yesterday, managed to get on pretty much every ride through the day including the smiler, got in the single rider queue with my friend and it only took 45 mins. Didn't spend too much either, feeling good. Hope I can keep myself busy today to stop my reverting to my old ways.

Well today went really quickly but also got lots done on my day off. Gym in the morning, catch up with my old boss about my career and exams. Walk around my local golf course (with no mobile phone or distractions which was great). Then back to my parents to chill in the sun with a bit of music in the background. Not one thought of gambling today.

27 days free of gambling

166 days to go (21 until 2 week holiday)

216 pounds saved.

423 paid off

Thanks Mark & Scotty, well I can confirm my friday has been bet free and a pretty darn good day. Was playing topgolf down in watford for a mates birthday, cost 10 pounds for petrol down (when split), 10 pounds for unlimited play all day and roughly 10 pounds for food. Best money ive spent in a while and actually having a full day catching up with friends while at the same time keeping gambling as far away from my mind as possible.

As you can seem i'm still counting pennies so financial worry is never too far away but less than 2 weeks until pay day and having a pretty quiet and cheap weekend ahead.

28 days free of gambling (4 weeks) 😀

165 days to go (20 until 2 week holiday)

224 pounds saved.

Bad weather today means being sat inside finding things to do, luckily one of them is not gambling. Instead have been watching tv series I have fallen behind with and just finished watching "The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty" which was a really enjoyable and uplifting film about a guy who was stuck in a boring job but suddenly was forced out into the world where he had life changing experiences. The ending even brought a tear to my eye I must admit.

Saw a close neighbour/friend of mine as well today and just saw him casually on a betting site, unsure if he has a problem or not but then again I imagine he would never suspect me to have a problem. Such a secretive and messy world gambling causes.

Starting a new fitness plan in preparation for my holidays, lots of press ups, sit ups & weights. Hopefully mind will be too tired to even think of gambling. Off to visit relatives now, try and boost that family/friends music:

7 - life

5 - family/friends

5 - gambling

6 - financial worry

Hi Dan

Well done on continued gamble free journey, good advice on my diary to guard against over confidence, temptation is always there - we just have to chose whether to give in or not.

Keep going, 50 days is not too far away.

Cheers sean, I'm sure you will be fine. So back to work today but if there's positives to take out of it the day has flown by due to catching up on things missed. 100 paid off on credit card but still enough until payday in 10 days time.

I'm new to the forum and just started my own diary and have to say how you bounced back from that mid diary set back was impressive and inspirational. Keep up what your doing seems like you've got a routine now which is working well for you.

I write this lying on the grass exhausted after a game of footy in the heat. I remember a time when as soon as footy finished I'd be straight on my phone looking at if my bet won or the next one I could place. Now I'm looking forward to a bike ride home and a relaxing bath. Oh the joys :D.

Thanks tryer. Well today started off a little depressing as I read about Raz who has been posting on here about suicide on his birthday. I have been low but would never even think of this. In a way it gives me strength that no matter how you feel someone is always in a worse off place fingers crossed he comes to his senses. Anyway work went quickly although bit of a lazy day and didn't feel motivated. House tidy tonight to cleanse my mind.
