33 days free of gambling

264 pounds saved.

Still a bit unmotivated at work but got better this afternoon. Off for a nice meal and drink with a friend tonight in derby. Should cheer me up but so long as I'm not gambling I'm in a happy mood.

Early check in due to being out on the lash later. Will not gamble tonight despite drink though, too much graft put in already. 2 weeks until holiday. Cannot wait. All is good in the gamble free world.

35 days free of gambling

158 days to go (13 until 2 week holiday)

280 pounds saved.

523 paid off

So I am at 35 days which is where I got to last time before a major relapse. This time round I have my finances in check, plenty of things to keep me active and my whole approach to quitting gambling is different as you can see from my diaries. Last time I actually missed gambling and didn't really want to quit, now I don't miss gambling and look at it differently for the destruction it has caused and know I will never have to go through it again.

Anyway, nursing a headache today but looking forward to a fresh new day tomorrow and back to football training. This will also help get me into shape for my holiday which I will be on in 2 weeks time from now đŸ˜€

Early check up as out all day seeing friends/relatives. Good training session this morning and also helped get our pitch and grounds ready for the new season.

Life 7

Family/friends 5 (sometimes hard to juggle it all and can be expensive so have to make sacrifices, should get better when I have more money)

Gambling 6 (thoughts creep up every now and again)

Financial worry 6 (payday on Thurs should drop this number further)

Thanks Suzanne. I actually really enjoy it when money comes out of my account to pay my monthly debts. Strange isn't It. Sort of one less payment to go. Out to celebrate a friends new job tonight, take her for a meal and drinks. Had to double check my finances as it was an unexpected cost but things are going well and it would be rude to turn this down.

Wow, so bored today, I'm sat at work doing very little worrying about the 50 quid I spent last night on treating my close friend to a meal and cocktails. I know this should have been an enjoyable evening and it was just I hate the feeling spending money that I'm trying so hard to save and get back to normality.

Don't worry though not long til holiday and I will not gamble in order to win that money back, it is just what normal people do and I hope to be normal soon.

Where has my motivation at work gone? Anyone have any suggestions to keep me occupied. Think I could be on wind down to holiday mode but it's not good and I'm sure people are noticing I'm a bit distant at the moment. Ah well see how I feel after the weekend. No thoughts of gambling although I am tracking the us dollar rate for my holiday but it just keeps going down so I'm waiting for it to go up to hopefully get a better deal.

40 days free of gambling

Payday!!! So have made it quite comfortably to payday and with a 2 week holiday in between this and next payday I'm hoping it will be the best 4 weeks in my recovery. I have no need to gamble and the thought of seeing my bank balance at next payday is exciting. Work going ok today have started up a prediction league at work to get the guys and girls at work involved in the footy season without the need for accumulators etc... All good to keep mind occupied.

Wow so after payday yesterday and not yet spending a penny of it I then got told today that in the next 3/4 months I may be getting a promotion in my job due to restructure and the work I've put in recently. Add that to what should be a good bonus come October and I think I should be well on the way to recovery. Have a great weekend everyone. I know I will. :D.

Well I cancelled golf today due to expected rain...and guess what it didn't rain. But that is a bit of money saved and having a chilled day with a run thrown in. Bit of prep for our first friendly of the football season tomorrow. Really can't wait for holiday now. 6 days to stay clean, there are thoughts I must admit but I've come so far.

Thanks for those wise words on my diary - very apt.

Keep going and you will feel the rewards very soon, bring on day 50, then 100, enjoy your holiday.
