Aww (((Del)))

I'm so glad you found it helpful. Thing about families is we are experts at pushing each others buttons. Its about learning how to hold your own without getting angry and nasty - however, some things are too raw and instinct takes over. I have to admit, I was not patient myself when really upsetting things were said.

I remind myself, I am patient and loving to people in general and I am working on those difficult examples such as family members.

Day 95 for me today. Not been getting many urges. It is always easier for me in colder weather as well, because I go to the beach less. I live in a seaside town, so arcades are rife.

Had a really good day yesterday, where I felt some lovely moments of peace. My life is a bit all over the place at the moment, so it was welcome relief. Things should hopefully settle down in the next couple of months.

Our rabbit is coming to us some time in the next week, we are waiting to hear back when they can come and hand him over. Very exciting!

Felt better yesterday, even though I was shattered from not sleeping well.

We got our bunny! he is gorgeous 🙂 can't wait to snuggle him, but we are giving him some space to settle in first.

Had some gambling thoughts a few days ago, when in the next town. I was doing mystery shopping and thought "maybe I could go in this arcade, because I never come here to this town so it would be safe.....I have only been here twice in a year....so it wouldn't set me off again..." BOOOOOOL SHIIIIII*!

Didn't act on them crazy thoughts thankfully.....

So today is day 97 🙂

Today is day 98 - left chat after 5 minutes last night after some selfish idiot came in to talk about how 'pleased' they were with their 'win', describing exactly how many pounds they were 'up'. I put up in commas because a CG is never up.

Now I know it takes a while to understand how that kind of talk is insensitive and may trigger urges in people, but it begs the question - why are you here? if you come into chat to talk about your gambling without regret? this is not a place to chat about gambling, it is a place to come if you are trying to quit. Isn't it? I don't know what this site is for anymore....

(must point out that I left as soon as the bragging began, so the mod may well have dealt with it in my absence)

Hi Freda... I guess its the same with the diaries sometimes where people come along to brag about wins.. just ignore it. We all know that Cg's never keep their wins in the long run.

Anyway me thinks it must be your 100 days. Well done.. keep going!!

Thanks for your support... S.A 🙂

thanks SA

Yes 100 days since I last gambled! looking forward to Tuesday, which is the 15 week mark.

The state the country is in at the moment, it terrifies me to think of wasting a penny on gambling. We need to protect ourselves as much as possible.

As for someone bragging about wins, yeah best thing is to ignore it - but some days you are more patient than others. Even though I know it is bull, the idea has still been put into my head and I don't like it.

Hi Freda

Do you own any dalmations by the way?

It is a good feeling to reach milestones. We just have to keep maintaining the recover. Things come along to test us but we have to remember the goal we set out at the start. Hope you have a good weekend and I thought I would mention I enjoy reading your posts although I don't respond to most of them. Take care

Hi Freda,

Well done on reaching 100+, now go for the next milestone!

I agree with you with regards to being worried about our beautiful country. There is only one word that summarises what is wrong...

...greed.

Thanks guys 🙂

Today is day 103 and I will not gamble! possibly going to the seaside, so need to be aware.

Our little rabbit came out of his hutch for an hour last night, and climbed onto our lap. Super cute! he is also doing jumps which mean he feels happy apparently :-)))

I have to admit, I'm a bit of a big kid and found it frustrating the first few days when you couldn't go near him, of course he needed some time to adjust, but I wanted to stroke him! there is that hallmark of a CG again - impatience.

In the past, at this point I sometimes decided to do the lottery again - as I played for years without it escalating - but I am going to review this in a couple of months. Right now, I don't want to take the risk.

Well, here is day 105 - 15 weeks ago today I gambled for the last time.

I was getting myself all stressed yesterday, worrying about money and Christmas and the like. I haven't had an income for the last 3 months, which has hit us hard. The bloody boiler is on the blink as well, so we will have a plumber to pay.

However, talked it over with mr f last night, and realised it will be ok. It isn't ideal timing, but we have a few hundred stashed away for emergencies, and you have to have a working boiler in the autumn. Hopefully I should have a few quid coming in at the end of November as I am going back to work. I'm not a big earner, but when you have been getting nowt, not even dole even a cr** part time wage makes a big difference.

Can't wait for things to feel a little more sorted - hopefully by Christmas it will. I am going back to my term-time only job, so will have 2 weeks off at Christmas/New Year.

Hello Freda.. just checking in. Is your rabbit still jumping for joy?... i'd love to have a pet, but other than a fish its not really practical in my flat and me being out at work in the day etc. And then i can't cuddle a fish.. cos i'd kill it obviously lol 🙂

Anyway seems like you coped well with the stress you were feeling by chatting with Mr f.. so that good.. and so is your gambling free time. Keep going.. S.A 🙂

Just think what it would have been like if you had still been throwing away your money to greedy gambling bosses.

Times may be hard, but they can only get better.

Have faith, stay very strong and very positive.
