Hi everyone as I said I'm going to tell my story a bit at a time . It was 2008 I'd been separated from my wife about 6 months so I wasn't in a good place anyway and I had booked a holiday to ibiza for me and my son in the June. We were flying out on the Monday morning so I decided to go shopping for some holiday clothes on the saturday morning , i had saved a lot of money because the holiday was so important to me I hadn't gambled for a few months it sort of gave me focus . Anyway I got the bus to crown point to go to Denton retail park , when I got off the bus it dropped me right outside the bookies and I new I shouldn't but I thought well you never know I might win a few quid for my hols . From the first spin on roulette I was down about 50 quid and from that point on it just got worse and worse . My spins went up to 60 , 70 ,80 pound a spin I was so desperate to get my money back I just kept on putting it in ! . I was down about a 1000 pounds in about 30 minutes and really I should have left then but no I wanted my money back I knew that if my numbers came up a few times in a row I could do it, so I kept on spinning . In the next hour or so I lost another 1000 pounds my head was all over the place I couldn't think straight is was the worst feeling I think I've ever had ! . Working behind the cash till was a girl who I didn't know but she said she knew me I was a friend of her older brother I went back to the till many times to put money on machine and I remember her saying stop and saying she wouldn't put anymore money on but I insisted and she carried on , i wouldn't listen to anyone it's a's if I was in a bubble and nothing matters only getting my money back . In the next hour it was a bizarre turn of events I remember putting about another 700 to 800 pounds in and I knew I didn't have much money left I was running out of time and money . When I went to the till for the last time she finally said she would not put anymore money on for me as she was concerned for my wellbeing , i was so desperate to get money back I told her not to let anyone on the machine and I was going too the bank to get more money when I went to the cash point I looked at the balance and it was £109.00 that's all I had left I'd spent about 3000k in an hour an half I can't describe the feeling I just felt numb . Anyway that's not the end of the story yet I withdrew 100 pounds and went back in and thought sod it it doesn't matter now I span the roulette , 7 of my number's came in a row with the max bet on , I'd just won 3500 pounds in about 10 min's I couldnt believe it my emotions where all over the place I went to cash till got my money and walked out in a state of shock . I went to the bank put the money back and I went for a pint and just sat there trying to work out what had just happened . I went to ibiza with my son and had a great time he had no idea that a few hours before thing might have been a lot different and we couldn't have gone I still feel guilty about that today . Anyway the mural of this story is not to keep on gamblin because you can get your money back its don't gamble in the first place because when you've got a problem like mine you just won't stop till its all gone no matter what the consequences or who you hurt . I hope this story might make people think just how much we are willing to lose in our lives ! Lawrence
