Hi Lady H

How comforting does it feel when we are able to pay our bills again, when we have not gambled all of our hard earned money? That was my big fall down when gambling took a hold. I would then spend the next month scrimping and just not feeling myself and people were beginning to notice also. I would have to come up with various excuses why. However, when we are paying what we need to pay, this I feel, brings about calm again in our lives.

keep going and just give that "Mr G" a bop on the nose, if he even attempts to come within a foot of you!

Take care.

Our Lady.

Awh bless u tri!!

I am fuming!! I have 2 bank accounts with my employer...one has an overdraft the other doesn't. I've just received a letter from my bank. My previous DMP allowed me not to include my overdraft as I work for that bank. However Stepchange told me I needed to include this with my new DMP with them and it was up to me (and so I decided) to move all payments in and direct debits to the other account so I could continue to use this one instead.

The letter I have received is a letter of termination re overdraft account and that they require for me to repay overdraft on a date which happens to be payday. Thinking they're going to take my wage. So I ring them...they confirm they have had contact with stepchange and that the account will close and payments from stepchange will be received to clear balance. So just being cautious I asked if the other account will be ok...they tell me no as I could possibly get an overdraft on that account...clearly not with my credit rating. And that I need to go to work to open a basic account move everything I've already sorted to that one and everything would be ok. Luckily I did open a basic account with co op last year which I don't really use. It's really wound me up as all the hard work gone into sorting this...standing orders...direct debits etc, mobile banking etc. Thing is I haven't received any letters about the non overdraft account. I've decided I will ring my bank again on Monday and check about the non overdraft account. If worse comes to worse I will move everything to the other bank..just a pain on the a*s. Sorry...rant over...think it's got to me as I work for them and then on my part I feel a bit of shame x

Sorry 4 another post. I feel really strange...like I've gambled (I haven't and won't)...I can't work out why? Even my mum just said to me I seem a bit distant, am I sure I haven't done anything stupid...which I haven't. I've got that down feeling...when you've just wasted a load a money on Mr G...agitated/anxious almost. It's that letter...nothing else has happened to change my mood. Nite out with the bestie tonight... my mood better change. Rather confused on how I'm feeling 🙁

C'mon lady h, it'll probably be the letter dragging you down. It's just another reminder of how we've mucked things up but don't feel down you've done so well to get things sorted so far.
All the moves you're making are positive so you should be patting yourself on the back.
This addiction is a difficult one, we're bound to have set backs. It was great to hear how you had a pleasant surprise when you found out your bank balance.
Get yourself out there tonight and celebrate the start of fabulous gamble free life. Enjoy - you deserve it!! X

Hi thank you for popping by, yes I'm fine and still gf, your right seem to need more hours in the day since being gf but pack so much into them, just gone 10am, walked the dog, done one load of washing, cooked and eaten a bacon sandwich and now thinking I better go to thto gym to burn them calls off lol before having moms Sunday roast. Time of the year as well for mandatory training and exams to pass. How did we find the time to sit on our back sides and watch those awful reels spin! Anyway enough about me, glad to see your days mounting up, be proud of yourself. With regards to the letter, it's a minor blip which you are more equipped to cope with now your gf and as long as you keep fighting this your life will get better and better. Every body has down days but tomorrow is another brighter day. On another note I have to dress up at work for Red Nose Day, any thoughts? Hope you had a great night out and have a great Sunday, keep punching mr g out x

Hi Lady H.

So glad to read you didn't let that letter get the better of you but instead, you chose to be kind to yourself and go out and have some fun instead! This is one of the many things we can do, when we are not wasting all our money on gambling! Hope there are many more to come for you.

Take care.

Our Lady

Happy Easter everyone!! While I got 5 mins thought a quick update was due!! Well..I'm proud to say it's less than a week to payday and I still have £100+ to my name, couldn't tell you the last time that happened. I still owe my friend £140 (however original amount was £640)...I know, use that money you have and be done with it....problem is my partner has it & he never knew I borrowed it in the first place!! So as I've been doing last few months is on pay day pay all my bills (including her) & transfer remainder to OH. I gotta stress to you guys the difference it makes giving my money to my OH, I know I said it before but trust me it does. Anyhow the bank account situation...happy and gutted at the same time. Now I tended to have what I call PDP (payday panic) ...pay days coming...I'll start stressing, on my phone calculating bills & looking at my mobile banking every 2 secs. So basic account opened at work....yeaaaah....mobile banking and online banking taken away from me....nooooooo!! Why?, because I've gone with Stepchange & they obvs sent letter to bank re overdraft account (which has been closed & in collections dept) as I'm in a DMP. You know what the funny thing is...I work there & know for sure if you are Bankrupt or in a IVA you can't have mobile/online, however if I came in as a new customer with a DMP I could still have those...makes no sense (well I get its Because the overdraft is with them) but how frustrating! Lucky I work there so can do the transfer of funds to my partner whilst at work but imagine if I didn't...wld make things awkward. Sorry to ramble needed to let out. So no PDP or obsessing over mobile banking anymore lol. Oh yeah social life is hectic...clearly result of not gambling anymore, however I do have days where I do t want to do anything and wish I cld have a quick go on the slots. I even had a text from a casino saying I the we're trying to contact me re a bonus on my account ....uh I excluded myself...even tried to log in to make sure I was...& I still was!! So yeah life is great but Mr G is still there...I have zombie days where I feel like I used to feel when I gambled but don't get why. Happy Easter & please enjoy your day with family and friends and not Mr G, ramble on here don't gamble. Love to u all xx
