Hi Jean
44 days !!! Sometimes its easy to look at the number and think it's small well it certainly isn't. You've gone over a thousand hours of saying no to escaping away to gambling and that's a lot of no's
I wrote about this recently under the collateral damage topic that for me, realising not just that money in the bank would have gone to gambling but as you describe the true value of money and what it can do. For me I spent far too long saving all my money to gamble. Every penny needed in case I ran short to fuel the addiction. How many times would I be happy to go without buying something physical just to add a digital amount online. When Las Vegas was built they originally didn't use chips but cash instead. When they switch to chips their profits doubled. I don't think that's any different to numbers on a screen. I'm so glad you have that reward plan to buy your new glasses without the worry if further debt on a credit card. I also love the fact that everytime you look in the mirror you will see your new glasses as a reminder of how well you are doing in recovery.
