Feeling better than i did this morning. the lack of sleep is really effecting me. I guess i need to be patient.

gym after work . Im going do a little bit every day after work. try to do it into a routine/habit. I do like the gym when i,m actually there so it could be a good distraction.

All my bank card and passport stuff is with my ma. I wont really feel the benefit of that until after payday.

And i do need to contact the GP to ensure she gets that regferral sorted for me. Ive gone online and its the responsibility of the GP to do it

Glad to hear your feeling a little better this afternoon Stephen :))

I could understand your post this morning and the reluctance to phone again , as for all of us addicts it's far easier to say no I'm not going to keep pushing forward and make things better than it is to become proactive and push through those feelings to achieve what we set out to do .

Glad your now pushing through and keeping on with your plans from last week , nothing wrong with your gut's and determination buddy :))

Proud to walk along side you Stephen .

Have a good evening Bud !!

🙂 I love this new Stephen. You're right to not leave it, that's what the old you would have done before. Your doctor has a responsibility to do what she says she's going to do, it's not your problem if they haven't got the info that you require, and that they said that they would get for you - it's theirs, so don't feel guilty about hassling them.

How's your relationship with your mum now?

Twinks x

So i started the day well, i rang the secretary in the GPs office who said she will pass a message on to the GP. Like Twinkyl said yesterday im taking control of the situation now. I dont just want to stop gambling, i want to end the gambling traits/habits.

I wrote yesterday that i was irriated. Then i felt guilty about writing that. What would make me feel guilty about writitng how i feel on an annoymous thread. I need to be more open. When i go for tea at work if something is annoying me i should vent like the other lads do. Instead of keeping everything in.

Stephen

In this great contest of Stephen v Gambling - latest score as far as I can see - Stephen 10 - Gambling 0. I can see you have made some sort of an action plan for recovery and you are trying really hard to carry it all out, including sorting out the medical problem. I hope you get some answers soon and persevere with the GP. I am sure everyone on here knows that there will be up days and down days while recovering so don't feel too bad if you want to come on here and have a bit of a moan. I am fairly sure that Gamcare is designed so that people can share their emotions, high or low. Good luck and hope you have a good week at home and at work. Take care of yourself.

Thanks Gameparentanon.

Feeling good this morning, had a decent sleep and feeling fresh.

I went the gym last night again. Just an hour. But when i go the gym i dont think about gambling so its a great way to spend an hour. Im looking to turn this into a habit. And the fact that im using the gym as a way of not thinkin about the gambling means i have less pressure on myself in the gym.

Didnt hear back from the GP yesterday after the chaser. But i will chase again and get some peace of mind

Morning Stephen! Hope your day today is as good as yesterday 🙂 I agree with gamparentanon, exercise helps control the equilibrium with all those endorphins being released, so now you're going to the gym regularly that's got to be helping too. Let us know when you finally get some news from the GP.

Have a good day!

Hey Twinkyl im still waiting on a call back!! But Ill chase again. To be honest my headaches have improved since ive stopped gambling but i really want the peace of mind so ill keep chasing.

Had a good sleep last night. Cant remember the last time i had one of those. It makes such a difference to your day.

Doing some overtime in work later. Its very important for me to keep busy so its an opportunity i took advantage. Plus its no harm to gain some favour in work.

Then i have my favourite show tonight - The Apprentice. Always get stuck into it every year. Theres an Irish lad on it this year too. Anyone watch it?

I get paid either the end of next week or the start of the following week (payday falls on the weekend). And i have good blocks in place for it this time. But i wont be complacent and i feel once payday passes ill be in a much better position in my recovery. But one day at a time
