On today day 12....

Not really thinking much about gambling as been keeping busy with my girls but I know I have to stay focus with all the football that's on today.

My first target is next Sunday when I'll be tackling the London Marathon which I'm both excited and nervous for but it's giving me something to aim for.

Hope everyone has a gamble free day.

Day 12 done....

Today has been a relaxing one which you need from time to time but gets me thinking to much which then ends up with me beating my self up with how iv got my family into this situation and trying to work a plan out of it. I know I have to stay strong and I know betting my way out isn't the answer but some times your head says one thing and your heart another.

I need to keep focused I can't let them down again.

Hope everyone has managed to stay gamble free.

Shaun

Day 13 GF

Today was a nice family day but did include a couple of trips on my own to the shop in weeks gone by this would have been an easy chance to try £10 (never was £10) but today I stuck to my task and returned with money still in my wallet and sense of accomplishment.

Tomorrow is a new day and the start of a new week one which come the weekend will be one of the best experiences of my life...bring it on.

Congratulations on your 13 days gf! You deserve to feel a sense of accomplishment, its not easy to walk on by. Long may you keep on walking - that is till it's time for you to run the marathon haha! - I admire all who enter!
Enjoy and all the best x

Morning Shaun,

Very pleased to see you make two weeks. Congratulations!

I hope going back to work helps keep your mind focussed. I know how difficult the working day is but it can also offer a bit of relief and in some cases act as a welcome barrier.

You have already made one big step and as you know it does get a bit easier from here so keep you head up and look forward.

I bet you cannot wait for the race on Saturday. I wish that were me. For me a marathon is an unattainable dream. I have just started BBCs counch to 5k programme and I would be happy with that.

I will be following the Marathon and would look out for you if I knew your number.

Anyway, have a great week and keep racking up thise gamble free days!

Best wishes,

Mark

Evening Mark,

Hope you've had a good day.

Work is very hard at the mo, finding it hard to keep motivated but it's what pays the bills so have little choice.

Happy to have broken that cycle of chasing the last loss as I know with time the money which has been lost will also become a distant memory.

Really excited for Sunday just want to be at that start line and give it my best shot, well done with program 5k is a great start and you will be able to build on that, go back 8 months ago i couldn't even run a mile.

Keep going mate your nearly at 100 days!!

Evening,

Sorry Iv not updated in a while, iv been trying to switch off completely from anything to even remind me of gambling.

The marathon was amazing and will stay with me for ever, I have now booked some half marathons to keep my eye in and hopefully do them for a good time and Iv also applied for London next year.

So today iv moved onto 34 days gamble free it's been really hard the last week or so money is really tight with a lot to pay for and the devil insides answer is a little bet you will win all the money you need...how far is that away from the truth but it's a constant battle.

I often wonder if there comes a time where you've won the battle or isit something which stays with you forever and you have to keep fighting.

Hope everyone is doing ok and staying strong.

35 days gamble free...

Waiting for the day when it's gets easier....I don't want to gamble and the urges are not to bad my problem is I can't stop thinking about everything how much iv lost, iv let my wife and kids down, I owe money etc, all this is down to this dreaded addiction that once your hooked it's very very hard to break.

I will keep fighting.

Morning Shaun

Really pleased to see you reach 35 days.

Remember where you were just over a months ago?

I really hope your life has improved already. Seeing those positive changes is so important and such a massive incentive not to gamble.

I wanted to congratulate you on completing the Marathon. Such a great achievement. If you can apply that commendable dedication and will power to your recovery is will beat addiction all ends up.

Have a great day my friend.

Evening all,

Thanks Markman it hasn't been a thought 41 days, like any addiction breaking the cycle is the one of the hardest things and then it's being strong to resist the urges.

I was getting worried that now the marathon is over what else do I have to look forward to...well iv booked my self on a couple mood half marathons which I'll be looking to do for a half decent time and actually do something for myself.

Moving in today day 41 gf is good..pay day tomorrow during my previous relapse this would have been a time where I would go a little mad and then live with the regret that as a family we couldn't do anything all month, still money is very very tight while I try and rebuild the bank balance and pay some things off but once I get back on top of things again I will be much happier.

I hope everyone is doing well and fighting of the urges.

Good luck everyone and stay strong.

Good morning everyone,

Today's will mark 50 days gamble free, still have things to work on and it's not easy but each day I don't gamble I'm a winner.

Here's to another 50 days...

Hope everyone is doing well sorry I don't write on here half as much as I shouldn't just struggle with kids/work/running trying to keep myself busy.
