Congratulations on everything Shaun.
You are doing great. Make sure you keep it going.
I can tell by the upbeat tone of your recent posts that you are feeling the benefits of being gamble free.
Look forward to congratulating you on 100 days pal.
Mark
Nice one Shaun
Best wishes
Thank your Markman & Bal,
I'll keep going, the urges are so hit and miss but when they hit I'll stay strong!!
Shaun
Thanks again for your post Shaun. The longer I abstain, the better I feel. I know that there is no way that gambling again will make me feel better than I do at present. I hope ylou share this feeling, you certainly deserve to. Very well done on 57 days. 43 more days and I will have to honour my promise. I am very busy with work at present to not posting as much but will be keeping an eye on you. Best wishes, Mark
Evening Markman,
I most definitely share that feeling, for me gambling isn't in my thoughts as much but I know the devil is still sitting in my shoulder.
I'm gutted as I took a visit to the doctors last week and he's signed me off, I didn't open up about the gambling but I did about everything else going on (work, family etc) so now I have a bit of time for me...I need to try and get all my bills back on tract and then I will be a lot happier.
Gambling takes up so much time and energy and then it's difficult to put the energy into anything else.
I will keep going, each day we don't gamble, we are winners.
Stay strong mate.
Shaun
"Morning all,
Woken up on day 69gf things are starting to fall into place, the urges have dried up for now but I know could jump on my shoulder at any time.
I'm off work at the mo went and spoke with the doctor and he advised some time away from work but to keep busy so I have been out most days doing gardening, feeling much better for it aswel.
Not long until we go on our first family holiday abroad and I can't wait, things are still tight but the girls are going to have the time of there life's!!
So today is another day, off out for a family day, being a gambler all be it ex gambler, normally the moneies have gone and you don't want to do anything that would involve spending your hard earned gambling tokens!!
Today will be a good day.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Hi Shaun,
Many thanks for your kind words last week.
Things have been so manic I have had no time to post or even think about gambling.
Hope you and your family are well.
Hopefully you are celebrating 78 days GF today. Three weeks tomorrow until you hit that big milestone!
When are your family going away? Hopefully somewhere nice.
My family will be at St Ives Cornwall for a week in mid-August and I really cannot wait. So many of my holidays have been wrecked by my being glued to my phone gambling or not having much money or looking over my shoulder hoping that my mis-deeds will not come light in my absence. Hopefully this time will be different and I really hope that you and your family get a great holiday - certainly deserved.
Look forward to hearing about how you are doung Shaun.
Best wishes,
Mark
Evening Markman,
Thanks for the post mate.
were off on holiday in the 16th of July, heading to Spain, first time we've been away abroad as a family really looking forward to it.
Gambling is now something that's taking up less and less of my mind, I know all the hard work can be undone with one moment of madness, which is why I'm staying strong not visiting the pub to often.
This year when you take the family away Markman you can treat yourself and celebrate your amazing achievement, keep up the good work and we will beat this addiction.
Off to London on Wednesday to watch Adele with the wife, not really an Adele fan but should be a good night.
Hope everythjng is going well Markman and everyone else who's reading my posts.
Shaun
Afternoon Shaun,
I very much hope all is well with you.
Massive congratulations on making 91 days. Nearly there! I intend to honour my promise if you trust that I am a reasonably tidy, mild-mannered man with only the most minor of harmless psycopthic tendencies!
I am delighted that you will make 100 days gamble free before you go away on holiday.
What a great holiday that is going to be!
I will have to wait another month but I swear it will be the first where I am not disracted by work or gambling.
I have not been abroad with my own family, simply because I could not afford a passport due to my idiocy! We have always spent our time in Cornwall as we will be doing this year. Spain may well be on the cards for us next year. Who knows. Always play by ear.
Look forward to catchinbg up with you soon!
Best wishes,
Mark
Morning Shaun,
You had better be too busy working and looking after your family to post on here.
I hope you are doing very well.

Best Wishes,

Morning Shaun
It was great to hear from you yesterday.
I hope you are very well.
As you say, our pain pales into insignificance compared to that felt after the loss of a child.
I cannot find it my heart so say anything more on that note.
I will drop you a line tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Mark
Massive congratulations on hitting the century Shaun!
You truly are back in the game!
You can now go on holiday with your head held high and give your family the holiday it deserves!
Really pleased for you!
Best wishes
Mark
