Day 4, mixed day yesterday, didn't look at the dog results from the day before to see what I could have won ( lost more like it) got a phone call from father-in-law, who doesn't know how bad iv gambled and the fact I'm trying to stop, to tell me his 10 team acca come in yesterday and he won £1270. I was happy for him but the little cogs inside my brain started to tick, but I managed to stay gamble free. My weekly lottery ticket finished yesterday, so when I get home I'm gonna phone them up to self exclude me, you can only do 6 months online.......... That ain't gonna be good enough, have a safe day everyone!!!

You can get a lifetime ban. You often have to insist and explain you have a serious problem with gambling but they will give you it.

I told as many of my family and closest friends about my problem. I ask them not to discuss their bets winning or losing with me. Like you the little cogs in my head flare up and its not healthy. There's already enough temptation out there without those around me piling in with more.

I got as much help as I could. Gamcare give 'free' counselling. Give them a ring or you could get to GA meetings?

Thanks triangle, iv got a meeting booked with a counciler Saturday week, was one of the 1st things I did after talking to gamcare. Don't know what to expect, and to be honest I'm quite nervous about it. Haven't told any family about my addiction, only my wife. Family are the kind who will talk about it like I'm a bad person and not offer much/any surport, even tho there are 2 drug addicted people in the family, all they get is slagged off by everyone, and I don't need that feeling that everyone is cursing me, cos I feel very low at the moment. Perhaps in time, when my mood starts to descend, I'll own up. But for now...... It's a no go!!!! Thanks for your advice.
