coudn't help but read your thread - i wish so much my partner had your strength of character and determination. I'm crying my eyes out as he's just text me to tell me he's blown 260 of work's takings on those awful machines. If i don't bail him out he'll lose his job. They've already told him he's had his final chance. Means nothing to him. Because he knows he's alwways had doormat me to bail him out. I'm ready to leave - just hope i have the strength to follow it thorugh & stick to my decision. This isn't living it's existing & made 10 times worse when it's due to someone else's actions. I've supported him in so many ways & he just doesn't give a s**t about the hurt & devastation of his endless lies, deceit & betrayal. I really admire you for your honesty & determination & how much you want to lead a much better, honest life. Your family are fortunate. Good luck & don't ever look back. x

Thanks Mel35. Your partner has really got to want to get better. This is a horrible illness that I have had for over 20 years! It turns you into a completely different person and a compulsive liar. I need and want to get better for my wife and family! My wife and I went to my meeting on Friday night, I always take something from these meetings. Sit down with your partner and ask him if he is 100% committed to stopping this illness, if he is not then am afraid you can't do anymore for him. I wish you all the very best!
